I was about to say what you did dude, people always think a car is totalled only if the airbag went off... totally untrue. I hit a deer this summer going 65 in my Cherokee. Damage wasn't absolutely horrible, but my Jeep was only listed on KBB at about 5k, so I was pretty close to getting it totaled. After I talked to the insurance adjuster and told him how much I love my Jeep ("It's my favorite thing in the whole world!" haha), he decided that if we got everything used from a junkyard and had it refinished it would save a lot of money - and it ended up working out! After the accident, you'd never know the parts were used, because they sanded them and painted them to match perfectly. The jeep looked better after than it did before!
BEFORE and AFTER pics:
Over 2200 in repairs and I still got out with just paying a $50 copay! I love Allstate.

if they total it that would suck on your end, have to deal with a salvaged title "heck no drops your value even more". take a day at pull-a-part and you have your fix. new fenders/grill/lights you are probably lookin at maybe $100 for just the parts. i would say closer to $50 to fix it. then paint would be more. Shoot something like that shouldnt even be reported to insurance. if you can fix it i wouldn't report it but thats me! hell you should cut those fenders and by some steel bumpers now and throw on some bigger tires. its just an excuse now to fix your jeep up.
and like mihogan said, just cause and airbag goes off doesnt mean its totaled. you can set and airbag off by tripping a switch on accident in some cars, or if its goes outta date they can sometimes go off by themselves. thats why most shops are required to take airbags out because accidental going off owners getting hit in the face and not knowing what happend haha. its like a fire extinguisher "outta date" it doesnt work properly.

Yes I do... A side from them not replacing any steering components ( they are making it up to me ) It runs and drives wonderfully.

Well the insurance guy came by yesterday and they are going to total it.
Good news: His insurance company is going to give me $2300 for it and let me buy it back for $400. This is awesome since I only paid $800 for it 6 months ago!
I'm probably going to fix it up and drive it for a while until I find another one that I can afford. I really don't have any reason to sell this one so I'll probably leave it setting around for parts once I find a new one.

Well, to give you some perspective Lije, I am picking up my 91 from a body guy tomorrow (after being fixed) that had the exact same damage as you currently have and it cost me $1500 in labor/paint/swapping parts. Hope that helps some.
