wood panel cherokee
so i found a deal on a pretty nice full size original cherokee.. ive got my lifted xj but kinda want something with a little more room and motor and found this close by. its an 84 i believe with the 360. the body is solid everywhere no rust just faded paint but its an 84 its expected. i love how easy it is to lift these i was just looking around and for around 800 dollars i could have around 13 inches of lift which would go nice with my buddys 38.5 inch swampers and i would easily have the biggest woody wagon in town lol seriously i love the wood panneling but what do you guys think of these? i just saw this the other day and have started the research but what do you guys think is there anything i need to watch out for on this type of cherokee

I don't think we ever got them in the UK but they look fantastic in the pics I've seen on here and other sites. It'll cost you in fuel but hey, its not like you have to drive it every day! If I could get one I'd probably keep it stock (or reversible) and keep it looking nice. But I'm a bit soft on my cars

13" is way too much
But they are fun Jeeps. If you plan on running 38" tires and mud bogging it, you will break axles, assuming the gearing in the diffs is low enough to turn the tires through mud. They are pretty solid, but it will probably have a D44 front and an AMC20 or D44 rear. With the lift and tires, it will probably weight around 6K pounds. You will need more axle to handle the load.

I've had a couple of em. Beast is the only word that comes to mine. You would be surprised at how capable they are stock. They will just trudge along till ya run out of ground clearance.
