(1) Try to build it over night, take you time on your build (3 yrs and still going on current XJ). Your goals/expectations for your XJ will change over time.
(2) Paying loads of $$ to someone else for products you can make, or get used.
(3) If it's your daily driver (mine is) and wheeler know your limits and your rigs limits. Less skinny pedal...
Most of all don't give up on your rig.

The po plastered on the following sticker: "God created asphalt so yuppies can go four-wheeling".
It's a 93 with spotless carpeting, sag-free 17 yr old leafs, perfect factory paint, etc. lol
See my album for the glorious preservation.

Second, some states require flares or body to cover the tire.

1) build it over time. I've done this...it nickels and dimes. maybe doing the first one is OK this way, but after that...know what you want before you even start.
2) put bigger tires on than your axle can withstand (and have zero question on what it can withstand)...33's are a good size for a dana 30, and 17" tires are a good size for a dana 35.

I dont know
I don't know, I have ran fram in all my motors from oldschools to tuners, low miles to 300,000. My tuner I would redline it like every hour(7200rpms) and hate to say even gone 5,000 to 12,000 miles on a change in a 91 mazda car. I tell every one to get fram. I will not stop buying it too.

that is very true
Diff covers-about 200, gas tank-$180, Belly pan-$100, Slide rails-$200, both bummpers-$900 = $1580 no shiping
Tires-about $800, wheels $400, mount...-about$100= $1300
Lift about $700 about avg. to get it on with ex stuff...=$900
Axles-gears-$380, lockers-$1,600, axler shafts-$700, to put it in-$800 =$3480
Recovery gear-winch-$800, Stuff...-$500= $1300
Total= $8,560 How many people have that much money to do it all at once? Thats not even the cost of things like elect, tools, bolts.... so Lets just say about $9,000 and then the cost to fix the small stuff on the jeep.

Not only are ATs great for winter use they are much better for use in very sandy areas, like the part of FL I live in. I try to stay out of the mud and on the trails where most Jeepers call Super Swampers "Grave Diggers" because nothing will get you bogged down in some sugar sand faster. ATs seem to do much better in the deep sand. That and they last alot longer on the street and allow comfortable 80mph interstate travel without having to yell at passengers.
I think the correct way to say it is, "Don't lift it up and put oversized radials on it!" And don't do like the local wannabe countryboys do and lift their Jeep 8"+ and put 33" Thornbirds on it and drive it to and from high school and the Steak and Shake parking lot to hang out outside where they invariably will park it with the front tires on the curb. Lame.

Why?
Have been running mine for a while, everything is still as it should be.. Taken it through several types of terrain, did some major flexing last trip, as well as driving through semi deep mud. and the only other thing that i can think of is the possibility of leafs flattening. Not trying to argue, just inquiring..
