Default Worth 3500??

Ok So my cousin is wanting an XJ similar to mine, so I am cruising home from work and I see this 1992 4 Door XJ that is lifted with a for sale sign, so I stop by.

I snapped some pictures

Well the odometer says ~155K

The guy says the engine blew up and he replaced it with an engine from a 94 with 80K
He says its a Rubicon Express 5.5" lift, I parked my Jeep next to it which is a 3.5 superflex and they are the same size, BUT my jeep has 33s this one only had 31s

Anyways, the body is straight, interior really nice, but it has a giant screw in the front left tire.

I looked under and its nothing special has the auto, D30/D35, and I couldnt tell what case.

Anyways, what do you guys think?

I figured it wasnt worth so much.

I wish I had snapped some pictures of the suspension.

The dude said it was a rubicon 5.5, but I have my doubts, he started to tell me that he still had the reciept for the lift that it cost him $3000, and that these are the best, and bla bla bla

Once I told him I had an RE superflex in my xj, he kinda like hurried me off the phone

$2500 the very most. just cuz it has a JY motor with less miles doesnt mean anything. A D35 eh. theres the big dent in the rear quarter. overall miles on vehicle not bad. $2500 tops!

I know this wasn't the question, but I HATE those wheels. My neighbor's YJ has those and they are potentially the ugliest wheels I have seen on a jeep.

And no, not worth $3500. I just bought a 95 with the original 4.0L having 150k miles and two sets of tires (a/t's and m/t's) and wheels, a 3" lift, with a better body than that one for $2000. And I would've offered $1700 if it weren't from a close friend. The guy who is selling this seems a bit sketchy anyway.

Jeeps are fairly common and cheap. Tell him to buy a stocker and lift it himself, that way you know who has wheeled it.

Yea those are the ugliest wheels, they are AR rejects from the late 80s

I got the feeling he was trying to pull some quick moves

Yea I was looking for an old stripped out one that was on the cheap, but I saw this one and its in pretty good shape so I figured i would see what was what
