It's no different than all the ricers that toss crap on their civics, mustangs, whatever... and then never even use them in 4/10th's.
They're no different than the guys in 1/2-1 ton trucks with 40" tires, no front driveshaft, 4 shocks at each wheel and not a scractch on the under carriage.
Same idiots, just a different vehicle platform.
I'm proud to say that my Mustang is USED and even has a roll bar and my Jeep has bedliner'd sides and random bumps/bruises all on it.
I think any solid axle Jeep is one of the worst riding/daily drivers i've ever owned, but their offroad abilities are what make it worth it. The people that mod them, daily drive them and DON'T "seriously" off road them(not some gravel road with a big rock or two)are pretty retarded.

To their credit.
Those wronglers, cost 3,4, even 5 times as much as out XJ's and The newer ones arent payed for yet. Plus most of the guys that drive those are older. Risks turn them away. I would be scared to wreck a 25k$ rig too.
To our credit.
Our rigs are cheap, cheap to maintain, and personally i dont care much about what it looks like. Plus most XJ owners are younger. Which means if you tell us we cant do something, We will try it until we or our rig breaks.

Probably just posers that havent found a club to teach them how to drive properly offroad.
If you broke something, you did it wrong.

Having a good/equal group to wheel with is certainly important. It's no fun being in a group of 1 ton equiped rides and either being drug over everything or having to go around/ride with someone else. Swings both ways though, as the i'm sure it's no fun being the ONE guy on bix axles in a goup of A/T tire equiped rigs.

and for the civic questions and some of em dont have everything so you dont race it. i got a dd civic, is slammed has nice rims but thats is everyone wants to race but id get smoked. Its the same as if i was in my 56' buick. its ment to look sick but i dont drag it even though its built.
some people just perfer cool lookin vehicles vs stock. but hey at least those people can take price in something they did or spent their money on it, And yeah i hate pavement princes's too, i dont get why you would lift a dually with like a 8'lift and super swampers what kinda trail are you taking that thing on?

1. they're pansies
2. they'd rather go home and make sure that wife and kids aren't stranded somewhere because of the snow
3. they've already dropped a vehicle in a hole in the snow before, and they don't wanna drop another one
more than likely they were just afraid to go out there, but keep in mind that it's a lot harder to recover a vehicle in the snow, so nobody wanted to be in the situation to need help
