Default Xj lights

Maybe my eyes are bad but I can't see &$@! When driving in the dark. Replacing factory headlamps, what are some good options? What is HID run? Worth it?

I thought I needed HID's.. I couldn't see that my headlights were on driving through town. I hit a deer with my Jeep and now I have one old sealed beam and one new. (Literally) night and day. I will still do HIDs someday, but right now I'll be buying another $25 Closed beam.
