Whats wrong w/ that? There is a great deal of awesome praise/worship muzak out der. Hillsong, City Harmonic, lotsa good stuff if u know where to look.

This is comin from a guy who played in punk bands for years (bernie's in cbus, the union in atown), got into the rave scene (i spun hardcore, jungle: search utube for dj lenny dee or dj hype, u will get a feel for what i am talkin about), music was my life. But after i got saved, i was convicted to start listening to "Christian" music. It was tuff. Lotsa corny stuff out there. But, do some lookin u can find some genuine unique music that honors God and doesnt become a point of stumbling for younger believers. Besides, all the stuff that MOST people consider music (mainstream), sounds like it fell out a donkeys butt. My $.02.

This is very true. I'm pretty eclectic when it comes to music. I'm a big LP fan, but I also like country. I'm all over classical, but I also listen to pop. More than anything though, I listen to "christian", which I hate labeling it that because it tends to convey 4 fat guys in suits singing harmony. Give me Hillsong/Hillsong United, The Afters, Phil Whickham, Jesus Culture, City Harmonic, Chris Tomlin - these are the groups/artists that actually know what it means to write music that goes beyond the mainstream "Christian" into what is best described as worship. I know, not everyone on here agrees on beliefs, and that's fine, but I can also say that if you listen to the music for what it is, you cannot deny that a lot of these artists are just as good as the radio's Top 100 from other genres. And you don't have to deal with all the crap you don't want kids to hear that's in the majority of the songs.

Back on topic with this thread though..........new challenge?
