xj pre 97 ltd rim pics
Hi chaps.
From what I gather, most people dont like them but pre 97 ltd (latice) rims just rock my world with chunky tires. I think its a notsaligia thing as my dad had a cherokee with them in early 90s Dubai. We use to due bash, camp in Oman etc. Just great memories as a kid. Id like to see pics of your XJ with those rims fitted. I have a 97 and thinking of fitting a set. I can pick them up cheap and get them refurbed to look top knotch. My current set up is 3.5 lift and 31s. Thats good enough for me but would be intresting to see anyones set up with 32's and 33's.

How shes sitting at the mo. will keep the steelies and get some muddies for off road use but want a set of the old LTD rims for the all terrains. Yea I know I need to get the grill pannel painted the original green.

Never did like them - on anything! My '96 came on them, but when it needed tyres I replaced the rims as well. Wheels, like so many things, are very subjective & we all have our preferences - & pet hates.
If you're thinking of refurbing some, think about having them in finished in body colour, with polished rims.

I haven't really seen very many XJ "Lattice" wheels on lifted XJ's with off-road tires. I will tell you that the 1989-1992 Limited and Briarwood models, as well as the 1993-1996 Country models, used the same "Lattice" wheel, the only difference is finish. It was ALWAYS silver on the Country and Briarwood, and either gunmetal OR gold on the Limited (depending on the exterior color and pinstripe color). The late-1980s to early-1990s Wrangler YJ Limiteds (YES... they DID make them, but they're SUPER RARE) ALSO used the same "Lattice" wheels.

Ive seen one on insta and it looked the muts nuts. kinda stock but tough. The Briarwoods really rock my boat. Ive seen a vynle kit for my year and in my opinion looks super cool so might be something I'll do in the future. Currently having fun working through mech bits and bobs and once done ill start on the asthetics. My passanger window just dropped when I was driving on the motorway. Usual thing the plasitic do hicky on the regulator broke so replacing with the metal gear thing. Also have the usual cracking arond the steering box so gona fix and plate the uni with stiffners and add a iron man steering brace.
