Sorta true, my dad technically owns it, but it's basically mine. He pays for repairs when it's general maintenance, I pay for mods and anything I directly break by being stupid. For instance my tires, I was stupid and burnt rubber, now one is bald, now I have to pay for tires
Not a huge deal though, this way I get oversized tires of the tread design I want
Bottom line, my parents help, but I pay for mods

Very nice! It's good to help your Mom/parents. They do so much to raise you, it's nice when you can repay at least some of it. Good looking Jeep too.

I'm 17 and make just enough money to pay my insurance, gas, cell phone, and girlfriend bills ;p hahahaha mostly with my xj though I have scored with spare stuff that my dad and his friends have. I received a set of 33s in exchange for cleaning up my dads friends back yard and front yard.... (he was cited by the city for it being far to dirty) then my lift I have was put together from christmas money and my job.

Y'all are lucky...
My first car was a 68 Olds Cutlass... I payed $200 for it at the age of 18. This thing was taken off road, used as a 4x4 rescue, beat to crap, leaked like a siv, No a/c (in Arizona at the time), every tire was a different size. My monthly insurance was more than the cost of the vehicle. I was dirt poor and lived in a studio apartment. This was nearly seven years ago. Several times I was fronting money to my parents (single mother) to pay bills... Like an overdue electric of over $500.00. This way my brothers and sisters could take warm showers, keep the fridge running, run the cool air if needed. I dropped out of Highschool and got my GED to work full time.
It sucked not having anyone to fall back on, though it makes for stronger character as an adult. Sometimes I feel bad for this new generation coming up, getting hand outs from their parents... Sometimes I get pissed when I learn about some of these kids ****ing their XJ's up, without consequence, because well... It never really belonged to them in the first place. A cry'n shame.
I still have a picture of it. Not a very good one though because I could only afford a crappy prepaid walmart phone at the time.
Since then a lot had changed. However I'm driving a 14 year old XJ... So some things I find will remain the same.
