Default ZJ back seat question

I've searched through a ton a threads and used google. From what I gather the rear seat is raised 1-2 inches but I have also read that you can 1-2 inches in leg room? Also, how is the comfort level of the the ZJ compared to the XJ. Just wanna make sure the mod is worth it and all...the 60/40 split and a little more leg room is huge for me.

Thanks

I have a 01 XJ btw.

you lose significant legroom and headroom.

luckily i only really carried 100lb slam pieces in the backseat.

i just did it so i could carry 3 people and fit my 37" spare tire straight up.

If that's the case than this mod is out. I carry a bunch of hunting gear and would like to be able to fit 3 people if it's stacked with decoys.

I wouldn't say you lose a significant amount of legroom or headroom. You lose some, but it's not a crazy amount. Not really like there's much there to begin with anyway. You can still get 3 people in there just fine with the 40 side of the seat down for all your hunting gear. The seats are a lot more comfortable as well. You actually feel like you're sitting on something other than a piece of cardboard over some brick. It's definitely a mod I recommend.

How much leg/headroom do you figure you have lost?

maybe 1" for legroom and .5" for headroom. If you set up the rear correctly the bottom cushion has a slight angle to it (front sits a little higher than the rear) so you don't lose as much headroom. If you set it up so the rear cushion is level front to rear then yea, you lose more. Like I said, It's not that much of a loss.

Just like with a normal XJ back seat. At least with the swap you get eh 60/40 split and more comfortable seats.

True...I'll prolly do this. Still trying to decide on some front seats. My drivers is broken. Thinking Corbeau Moab or Corbeau Baja.

As long as they get mounted correctly they lay flat. I'll get a pic after work.
