I've thought about it before and not nescesarily because of zombies, but if everything goes to ****, I'm lucky that I have 100+ acres that some folks consider to be "up north" to make a nice quiet living and about 50 or so different guns (anything from a .22 or a .45 to a .30-06, 7mm ruger, m1 garand, mossberg 10gauge, ect..) as well as about 4 acres of already developed gardens full of yummy stuff(sometimes I'll forage in the garden, walking from row to row eating random fruits and veggies :P) and I got a buncha chickens, some pork, a good deer and turkey population, as well as a nice trout stream. I think I'll be all set

edit: OH and I have a 215 pound dog that is anything but shy when it comes to protecting his family

I didn't mention cutting and splitting by hand 8 cord of wood a year to heat the house (screw oil) and all the rest of the hours of hard work to make it all work. and maple season as well. 1000+ taps all on a tubing system. and hours of boiling. it's a lot of work and I mean we aren't 100% self sustained, but I like to think that we could if we had too... at least i'd have maple candy lol.

Man, I would love this. I'm content with 4 acres right now but within a few years I'd like to find a 20 or 40 acre plot (with zombie defense in mind of course :P ) I've really gotten into the self sustained stuff lately. Just need a bit more room lol.

Zombies per se aren't real. However the government " accidentally " releasing some kind of biological agent that could affect peope is a real possibility.

Me? nooooo. I'm more concerned about the idiots running around Tulsa randomly shooting people. Seems to be a shooting every other day here.

True, but the way our government is acting today we would probably be better off without them.

Besides, This is just my temporary home anyway. My permenant home is with my Creator God in Heaven.

The CDC actually has a "zombie awareness" stage. And it is possible for a "zombie" apocalypse now it wouldnt be the flesh eating kind that we have all come to know and love it would be more like the 28 days later kind where their just crazy

and being prepared for 'zombies' helps with other stuff...like if we got invaded 'red dawn' style...nuclear war and you get isolated. nothing wrong with preparing for the worst

lol. zombies covers a vast majority of things for me. instead of saying, "ok, I'm all set for the future if the government releases a biological catastrophy, or If the government itself corrupts, is taken over, tries to take us over, or just crumbles into nothing, or anything else that you can think of that will cause us to have to be self sustained." Instead, it's just easy to say, "ok, I'm all set for the zombie apocalypse."
