I would have bull bars fitted, meshed lights and windows, lift kit, wide *** mud wheels and tires, fuel cans on roof, spare tires on roof and rear, supercharger, flame thrower side skirts, hood mounted guns, extra range fuel tank.
kinda the way I would go!

I would find a way to protect all the glass and lights. Add some extra lighting and a fuel cell. As for weapons I would keep it simple, 12ga shotty and a pistol. Maybe an AR type rifle. I would keep this simple setup because any more and it would cut down on space for ammo. Id opt for a bumper built like an ol steam trains that way the zombies are deflected more. And you gotta remember to stay out of the populated areas when you can. Perfect job for an XJ. Thats my take anyway. LOL

id leave my xj just the way it is now, just add a little more armor, plexiglass windows, keep it light for good mobility, ive already got the lights covered haha, ive got 4 hellas on the roof two 130 daylighters on the bumper and kc flood lights on the back, i would just make the front bumper a little stronger and add some skidplating underneath and strengthen the unibody, and let the hunting begin

Some of these are over the top, Like kmarts.
I think He is adding alot of weight thats not necessary for Zombie survival, And all those guns (rocket launcher) are gonna need lots of ammo which will add lots of weight, not to mention everything else (batteries/added steel/water and food), Plus have room with it to have passengers.
Also Im not sure if the tracks will be such a good idea, What if you break one? Where are you gonna find replacement parts? I think an expandable foam filled tire IMO would be a better choice. I would also stay away from s/c'd and t/c'd for the fact of fixing/replacing too. Just a nice built i6 or v8 would be enough.
For anthony,
You have a good start to an amazing survival vehicle! I like the flat tank idea, and love the push button! It would still have normal key starting capabilities right?
I am also doing this for bettering our knowledge of SHTF survival.

I dont think I want to hunt as much as avoid. Has anyone watched the new Walking Dead series on AMC? Pretty good so far. I love all of the Dawn of the Dead/28 Day type movies.

hmmm. this is gonna take some thought. I think i would start with a simple exo. throw in a 5.7 (fake) hemi, richmond 6-speed, atlas II, dana 44-60, gas mask, camelback, 240B turret, winch with a steel arrow, CTIS, roof-rack with 4 spare tires, spare gas tank, front and rear spears, lexan windows, and hopefully I can still fit my 10 dogs and my wife in there.
