01 XJ Relocate Wiper reservoir when adding a snorkel
I saw a lot of posts about this. When adding a snorkel on the 01 XJ you need to remove the wiper reservoir in order for the Snorkel to fit.
I saw a lot of people adding hosing and tapping into the wires and running them across the whole jeep in front of the rad and relocating the reservoir in the passenger fender (exact opposite).
IMO that was too much work for just a wiper reservoir so I decided to do something different. I will post some pics, hope it helps someone else who ran into this problem as well.

1. First I cut the reservoir in half. I noticed that if the reservoir was smaller, I wouldn’t have to relocated it and mess with any hoses or wires. I used a piece of the cut off half and attached it to close the now smaller reservoir and let it sit in caulk over night.
Next I cut a small hole and took a 3/8 piece of hose and put it into the top part of the reservoir.

2. Next I plugged the two lines back in the original spots and the electric line (do this first before trying to mount it). I relocated it slightly closer to the front of the jeep. (As close to the front as possible so u have more room for the snorkel hose). Both the lines and wires reached no problem. There were already predrilled holes, I mounted it with 3 different heavy duty zip ties from inside the engine bay.

I used 3/8 bc that’s what fit flush with the funnel I had so I didn’t have any spills when filling the reservoir.
Snorkel came out great and doing what I did only added an extra 10 minutes the job and no more $$$ as long as u have some caulk and zip ties laying around. Doesn’t look pretty but it’s hidden and turned out great because I didn’t have to extend anything and run it across my engine bay. I will have to fill up more frequently now that i cut it in half but I’ve had the changed reservoir on for over a week now with no leaks and haven’t had to re fill it yet so it isn’t too bad.

When you do your water crossings, and everyday driving, how do you stop debris from entering your modified washer bottle, since there is no cap on it?
I'd imagine sand, dirt, debris will get into the funnel and eventually clog the washer pumps.
I'd also guess with out a cap, evaporation of the washer fluid will happen faster. I'd also assume with no cap, that water / moisture will dilute the washer fluid and bring the freeze point closer to freezing as opposed to having like a -25*F freezing point.
