Default 17" steel wheels on stock axles

So I'm making a list for what I want to do in the next two years on my jeep. I want to run 17s for the tire selection in the size I want next. Issue is I can't find any wheels that'll work. I just want a 17x8-9 5x4.5 with 3.5-3.75bs steel wheel. Not familiar with how offsets work with backspacing but everything I've found is 4.5" bs which from what I know with 15" wheels is way too much spacing and will rub with 12.50s. I've checked summit, 4wd, quadratec, and Amazon. Any help is appreciated. Rather not run spacers as the they all are 1.25".

Edit: Looking to run 37x12.50r17s

Maybe I'll have to go 6x? With an adapter then. That way I can keep the wheels if I go one tons some day

What size tires are you planning to run? With adaptors my JK moabs end up with about 4.75" backspacing and I have plenty of room with factory flares. My tires measure out to about 32x10. The only clerance issues I've had were at full stuff, which bumpstops took care of.

37x12.50. Much more options in 17s vs 16 and 15s. I'm running 33x10.50s now with 4"bs and love it but with a taller and wider tire I want between 3.5-3.75bs. Everything I'm finding is 4.50 bs which is way too much for 12.50s I believe.

Perhaps I misread your post, but you didn't specify what size tire(s) you're looking to mount. I run Mopar steel wheels that originally came with Dodge Chargers, and have 235/80R17E tires, which are 32 inches in diameter and about 9.5 inches wide. Works perfectly for me. However, I've never liked running tires wider than 10 inches.

Found a set on Summit that are 17x8 5x5.5 5.00 bs. With an adapter that'll put me right where I want and if i have to use an adapter I prefer it be the same amount of studs.

The lower number of backspace, the further the wheels will stick out.

Depending on how much lift you plan on running you won't be turning very much with 37's and 4.5-5" of backspace.

That's what the adapter will fix, being 1.25" wide it'll give a 3.75" backspacing. But that was my big issue. Plan for lifting it is not much more then I am currently, somewhere around 4"s.

Must have read right over the spacer portion of your post.

Have you checked the cost of those 37" tires, much less everything you will have to install to run them for just one both new differentials $$$$$$$ when the build is done.

I'm buying built axles off my friend when he goes tons. Only issue is they're from a TJ so I'll need to weld in the perches on the 44. It's already built with gears, lockers, trusses, and rear disc brakes. I have a set of tires and wheels priced out and it's honestly not horrible compared to 33s.

No, hp30/44. I'm a light foot and he's been running reds with 37x14.50s no issues. They have everything done but inner sleeves and chromoly shafts. I'll probably make my own almost alloy kit for the front shafts.

Haha hot damn, have a good shot of them? That has to be close to full width stance. What tires size do you have?
