Default 1990 Xj Coolant Temp Sensor VS 1991 Coolant Temp Sensor

The 1990 renix coolant sensor is in the block reading coolant temp which would be hotter than the coolant at the thermostat housing.

The 1991 coolant sensor is in the thermostat housing reading coolant temp which would be cooler than the coolant in the block.

Question:
What Change on the 1991 computer to reflect the difference in temp readings due to the change in the placement of the coolant temp sensor from the block to the thermostat housing?

Question:
Has anyone made the temp sensor location change from the 1991 to their renix?

You have it backwards the coolant is hotter at the thermostat because it gone all the way thorough the engine and head .

Coolant temp sensor? CTS?

I'm sure each sensor in each system is calibrated for what the engineers wanted.

So therefore if I installed a 1991 therm housing onto my 90 renix then I should get a 1991 CTS to istall into the therm housing because engineers recalibrated the 1991 CTS for the relocation change, correct?

No. They're 2 different fuel injection systems with different values assigned to the range of the sensors.

Leave your CTS right where it is, down on the driver side of the block.

are you confused with the gauge SENDER by chance?

Not confused. The sender is a lot smaller and sits at the back of the head.

Why I want it at the thermostat? I know you didn't ask.
I have a 195 thermostat. My MT2500 is showing the temperature as 160 sometimes 180, 185. Its all over the place never reaching operating temperature That's what the computer is seeing too and making adjustments accordingly.
I removed the thermostat and checked it in water on the stove and is right on. So must be the CTS. I bought a new CTS, as you know its a lot of bull**** replacing it where factory stuck it.
The new CTS is showing anywhere from 203 - 211. If its in the thermostat housing its a lot less work and frustration replacing it. Part store parts anymore are junk out of the box. So it would just be easier in the therm housing till I find one that works.

My reading with an IR gun at the thermostat housing is within a few degrees of the CTS as monitored.

I only use factory Mopar thermostats after numerous failures of aftermarket ones.

Where do you get the Mopar parts? Got the new one from NAPA.
The second one I got is a Standard from Oreillys. I stuck it in the thermostat housing. It reads 203 -206. Like the Napa never seeing 195.
Both the Napa and the Orellys look identical. Only difference is ones a Napa box other is Standard box. Both are reading big differences in OHMs as per the chart.
