3 inch lift
Okay guys. Recently bought my girlfriend a 93 Briarwood and want to put a 3 in lift on it to clear a really nice set of wheels with brand new 31s I have laying around. She isn't going to be wheeling it much if ever because her jeep is spotless! So my question is do I need to go ahead and get control arms or not? I'm doing springs in front and add a leaf rear.

Aftermarket lower control arms serve two purposes.
1) stronger than stock, which you aren't interested in
2) keeps the caster angle (IIRC) the same for alignment purposes
I don't have LCAs, yet. I am going to get some, it's pretty visible that with my 3" lift the entire axle sits about 1/4" further back than it should.

You will need new shocks and the properly BS wheels to clear everything. On that of a Jeep you can bet the rear leafs are worn out and the AAL will sag quickly.
An entry level 3" lift kit from Rustys Off Road is $438 and includes coils, leafs, shocks, hardware needed. With any 3" lift you need an adj track bar also. I ran this lift for about a yr before increasing it to 4 1/2" with stock CA's and a 15x8" wheel with 3.75" of BS you can go up to 4" max for clearance. These are all made in NA not China like most all the others.
