1. General Grabber AT2: these to me are quite close in appearance and performance to the BFG AT's and cost approx. $140 which is my main reason for putting them as #1 and they look fairly aggressive. Good value tires.

2. BFG AT's: The tire and brand is well proven, they look good and seem to put out a "50/50" approach when it comes to off road and on pavement, and this is good. An all around tire that will go plenty of miles.

3. Hankook Dynapro MT's: look pretty good, have a really good looking tread pattern, priced in between the GG's and BFG's, and of course that rare time I end up in mud, I am a tad more prepared with these over the other two tires.

Thats my brief from what I have gathered in comparing them so far I suppose...
I'm running the AT2s as well. Got about 15k on them and still look new. Easy to balance, look good, and only hum on the pavement. Great wet weather driving, no snow in the south. They have pulled me through many times. They don't clean mud well at all but some throttle helps. I dont do mud much as I hate cleaning it anyways, but they did make it. I DO NOT like the BFG ATs. Had them on a Z71 Tahoe and Ranger and both sets were hard to balance and cupped horribly. Both 32s. Bleh! Grabbers look better anyways.

I ran 33x12.50 Grabber AT2s on my old Dakota for 45K mi and they were on it when I bought the truck, have no clue how many miles the previous owner put on them before he traded the truck in. I put them through sand, mud, and snow, pretty much everything the east coast has to offer except for rocks and they did very well at everything. They were outstanding in the snow and on the beach probably thanks most of all to the siping they have, and in the mud imho they are darn good for an AT tire.

Ok cool, thank A lot for that info. In your opinion, how well are they specifically in: snow/ice, rain and mud. Any hydroplaning, getting stuck etc?

Very good in the frozen stuff, no complaints in the rain either. As long as you remember they are an AT tire and not a MT you'll be extremely happy with how they do in the mud.

Alright, thanks for all your help and input everyone. My conclusion so far is to go for the General Grabber at2, and if not those the BFG at's, then the Hankooks last. I'm gonna use my eyes, look at these tires more in person and see what some of the "tire people" have to say as well.
Thanks again for all the input on this post, I'll update (if I can remember) On what tires I get and how they perform to me.

One issue I ALWAYS have with every BFG AT I install on someone truck never balance well. End up loading up with weight to 0 out.

Ive ran BFG AT's in 30's

I've ran BFG AT's in 31's

And Dynapro's in 30's

Dynapro is the way to go
How much lift were you running with the hankook 30s?

Dude that was 4 years ago. If you want a question answered about an old thread, it's best to PM the individual member instead of hoping they happen to see this.

I have a set of non agressive hercules A/T tires. They've been really good both on and off road. I don't do crazy rock crawling. They were very very inexpensive. but I would buy them again.
