It depends on how one defines "mudding" if you're talking about mud bogs yea, not much technical about that, stay away from where people have sunk in, stay moving. That's bout it.
But around here (Indiana) I've heard people call "mudding" what I (and probably most here) would just call "wheeling". I think it comes from the fact that even our rockier terrain, is still usually covered in mud, plus there's mud everywhere. Lol
Anyways, to whoever was considering a 6.5" lift I'd say hold on to the money, just buy some 31s and a BB, good shocks and trim your fenders, maybe some other budget upgrades. Just GO WHEELING and then upgrade what sucks. I wish I would've.

What's the matter with mudding that's just as fun as crawling over **** there's not a lot of crawling in south jersey but lots of mud an deep holes an farms you build your rig for what is around you what works for you might not work for the next guy I like mud a lot more the climbing things to say mudding takes no skill isn't true mud holes do have walls you got climb up to get out you don't just go go flying into a hole an hold the pedal to the floor lol

Nah, I agree though. I'm just saying the definition can be muddled. Lol I say just going through a big flat area of moist dirt (or soil particulates suspended in coagulation, lol) is mudding.
Wheeling is a pretty general term and IMO could combine any combo of terrains. Not like rock crawling when I think rock crawling I think of dry (maybe wet) rocks. Just rocks. Not a lot of dirt.
A thread to define the different classifications of off roading? I'll start.
Mall crawling - pavement terrains, occasionally a curb to go over and a speed bump, oh and that big pile of snow to pull up on, otherwise no obstacles.
Haha.

The second half... The only skill needed for driving thru a mud hole is being able to hold the pedal down and rock the wheel back and forth and hope for the best.

I wish we had real rocks around here. I have to drive 4 hours to get to some real rocks but I do what I have to do.
