95 xj auto. center console removal and cutting shifters shorter
I want to remove the entire center console, cut all shifter handles to the most minimum height possible (auto tranny shifter, 4wd handle, e brake handle) before I dive into this is it even possible. Has anyone tried this. Can you switch the automatic shifter handle? Any advice before I dive in?

It's a 2 door, smoother easier access for my kid to jump back there (seats don't fold) I don't like the e brake being under the console, and I just want a cleaner flatter look right there. Not to mention, no cup holders... was going to fab my own.

I thought the passenger side seat would fold forward on that 2 door.On the cup holders oem you could get two that hang off the right side of the console by the shifter. After market you can get two that sit on top of the e brake.

It doesn't have stock seats in it, so you're probably right. And I've seen those add on cup holders but it wasn't something I wanted, I have this whole vision in my head but it relies heavily on being able to cut the shifter handles down. My concern is on the handles with the buttons, not to sure what complications could come with that

From what I've found I should buy an entire new shifter kit, also allows throwing from reverse to drive quickly when "rocking" is necessary so I guess that's anther option.

The t case shifter you could cut down or make a new one.The auto shifter might be a pain with the shifter button to work after its been cut.Same thing goes for the e brake but maybe you could find a shorter handle for it at a junkyard.

In my 2 door both seats fold forward. May be easier just to swap seat brackets.
You can install a MJ e brake setup. It will eliminate the current version. The t case handle shouldn't be a issue. The "t" handle can be cut down, you'll need to cut the internal actuator the same amount.
Seems like alot of work when there's a simpler solution.

that's what I was thinking. It would be a whole lot easier to get some seats from a TJ or any other import that looked good and tilted forward.
If you mess up cutting and jacking around with shifter lengths, you could find your self in a bigger jam than you're prepared for.
