Don't forget when you add weight to the springs they'll flatten out so cut accordingly

Anybody heard any reviews (good or bad) about the IRO critical path 8" long arm kit, I'm building a mud bogger and wanna go big, or if you wanna suggest another 8" or bigger kit I'm all ears (I have done some research but only found one person who was running it)

I have yet to hear someone say that IRO long arms are good. They are however one of the only companies to offer an 8" kit though.

One reason I wouldn't get them is you don't have the option to adjust the upper control arm cause it's all welded together.

I believe you can upgrade to adjustable long arms for additional $$.

Ah OK. Don't see why they wouldn't come that way to begin with.

I am looking at trading my 31" Goodyear Duratracs for some 33" General Grabber M/Ts. Does anybody have any experience with GG M/Ts? Anybody know how they perform in comparison with Duratracs?

I've never installed a lift before so don't know too much about them (I've done a bunch of research but mostly about SYE's and drive shaft angles), why would I want adjustable arms if i already know the height I want

This is why you're going straight to an 8" lift?

Well I don't have the money to start small and work up (especially after axle swaps, re-gearing, lockers, SYE, driveshafts, and tires/bead locks ect.), I'm hopping I can get one lift and be done with it, it won't be a DD so if it takes awhile to instal it or if I find out I needed something I don't have it'll be ok, I want big because I want to build a mud bogger and I want all the clearance I can get, I know most ppl on the forum are all about little lifts (3-4.5 inches) but I'm looking for as much clearance as I can get, I'm trying to learn as much as I can now before I buy anything so that I can adjust my plan accordingly before I buy anything, so if i seem like I don't know something that might influence my decision feel free to let me know, but keep personal opinions out, unless their's a technical reason (other than somebody thinks it's unnecessary or dumb) please feel free to let me know about it

Honestly.... I've seen Cherokees run the bogs on 5.5 inches of lift and a lot of cutting for tires.... It depends on what class your entering in too because the pits have more and less slop in them.... Personally if I were to be running a bog truck I would go with 5.5-6.5 and cut fenders accordingly to fit the biggest tire I could.... And a nice skid plate up front to take the initial impact of dropping into the pits

8 inches is fine. Just as long as you know what all goes with the 8 inches of lift.

What size tires do you intend to run?

The shop said the RE 3.5 is installed, and confirmed I'm going to need an SYE. I'm going to spring for an adjustable track bar as well.

Would you all chime in on preferred brands for both? Any other part suggestions I should be considering?

Thanks again everyone. I've been reading through threads of other builds.....I can see how this hobby could get addicting fast!!! Our '76 Trans Am might take a backseat to the XJ this summer!

Iron Rock Offroad Double Shear 3.5"+ track bar. Most SYEs are the same. Find a good price.
