Well I don't have the money to start small and work up (especially after axle swaps, re-gearing, lockers, SYE, driveshafts, and tires/bead locks ect.), I'm hopping I can get one lift and be done with it, it won't be a DD so if it takes awhile to instal it or if I find out I needed something I don't have it'll be ok, I want big because I want to build a mud bogger and I want all the clearance I can get, I know most ppl on the forum are all about little lifts (3-4.5 inches) but I'm looking for as much clearance as I can get, I'm trying to learn as much as I can now before I buy anything so that I can adjust my plan accordingly before I buy anything, so if i seem like I don't know something that might influence my decision feel free to let me know, but keep personal opinions out, unless their's a technical reason (other than somebody thinks it's unnecessary or dumb) please feel free to let me know about it

I won't say that one is better than the other, but I personally won't put any other track bar on my Jeeps. The quality is fantastic, and I've never talked to a company with better customer service than IRO. I also bought my LCAs and D44 truss from them (and eventually plan to order their OTK steering) because they've left such a good impression every time I've called, emailed, or ordered.

Good word on IRO.
On the SYE... If I understand it right, IRO provides a new yoke, while RE's design uses a flange. Is one design better than the other? I assume the new yoke is better, but I'm a newbie and would rather get input from you folks.

I have a question. I'm new to jeeps and I'm running 31s on my jeep with a 4.5 inch rough country lift, I'm pretty sure I can fit 33s under there, but my question is can I run 33s with stock gearing?. I think it's like 3.55 or something like that.

It is most likely 3.55. You can run 33's but your gas mileage and performance will decrease.

One other thing on IRO's SYE...
There were posts on this thread back on 3/19 regarding the 96+ XJ's having a 29 spline main shaft. The IRO SYE kit mentions 27 spline. I can't get to the Jeep this weekend, so I can't confirm which it has. Is it an absolute that it has a 29 based on the model year and that I started with it being bone stock?

Thanks. I just sent a note off to IRO asking for their input as well. It would figure this would come up on a Friday afternoon, which means I won't get an answer until Monday.....and it will drive me nuts all weekend! HA!

WAIIIIIT!!! The shop I'm having do the work was able to check the spline count for me before they wrap up for the weekend. It's a 231 with a 27 spline, and it's the original case. Hmmmm. He said to go with IRO's SYE new yoke setup. That's what I'm doin'! New SYE kit will be ordered this weekend from IRO!
Still debating on the TB.....IRO or RE. I tend to be OCD about stuff, so keeping it RE for commonality as long as quality isn't sacrificed is where my brain keeps hanging up.

The conversation about 29 splines is regarding axles.
Which is why your shop counted 27 splines on the output of the TC...its supposed to be. Just wanted to clarify so you don't think someone swapped out your TC for another model year.

You're asking about 2 different things. The SYE "27 splines" is referring to the output shaft of the transfer case.
