If you have a 97 of newer XJ you may have to trim the lower corners of you bumper endcaps with a 3.75" BS (if you still have them on). If you look on my build thread you can see exactly how much I trimmed.

hey guys, i need to replace my worn out leaf springs, they are getting to the point where theyre really bad. I got a 2" shackle on the back for my lift. My question is should I buy 2" lift leaf springs or just get replacement leafs and keep the 2" shackle? thanks!

If budget is an issue (it was for me), I picked up a pair of Crown 4886186AA leafs for $140 delivered, and they netted me 1.75 inches over stock height installed (measured under load, using the factory method top-of-axle-to-frame). I think I got that price with a coupon & a free shipping deal?

$250 for the pair including shipping. Use google shopping, the p/n is CS034RA for the 2" medium duty leaves. They're $120 a piece at quadratec w/ free shipping (the extra $10 is handling fee). I ordered them Saturday and they got delivered today.

They're only $120 or so (from several sources) ...maybe less with a vendor coupon?
To my way of thinking, if you can save enough money when buying adequate leafs ("adequate" lol: YMMV), to also buy a shackle relocation kit (and given that kit might additionally compensate somewhat over time for the inevitable leaf droop), it might be "money better spent", woot.
...of course, my opinion and 2 bucks will get you a 2-shot Americano at Starbucks lol.
Just sayin'.
...yeah, this is the kind of devious crap my mind puzzles over.

A shackle relocation kit ...which someone posted in reply to a question I asked once, is typically used with RC's "too short" leaves. But they add .75 to 1.5 inch or so of lift. BUT they allow you to pretty accurately dial in the "ideal" 45 degree shackle angle (for a dd: read, improved ride quality).

Yup. You might consider the light duty leafs if you don't really ever have plans of adding weight to the back, but I think they're a little more costly. If you do your research on this sight, you won't find many complaints about the OME springs, their ride is considered among the best. They just don't offer springs with large amounts of lift, which is probably why they don't get talked about as much as RC and RE as spring options.
