I want to keep them for budget reasons 😂 hahaa. That's what I've mostly read too. I'll be going with some 15 inch Pro Comps, and save up a little more and get PC 7031, like the ones on the Tacoma in the picture.

you'll probably have trim your front bumper cap since your jeep is a new model, or get some ealy model front bumper caps for the front, you'll also have to trim some of the flare and plastic fender liner at the rear of the fender wells. Its not much trimming, and you can do it in just a few minutes. I know when i threw my 32's on at 3" they would have fit beside hitting the front of the fender, which would have been a non-issue if my jeep was a later model. And dont forget what barney boy said either, you will have to bump stop.

My leafs were inverted over an inch and i'm sitting at a perfect 4.5" in the rear and 5" in the front, with a pack that rides great and will out articulate most packs you get from popular lift manufacturers. And i did it all for 50 bucks.

And a tip for you being at the same lift height and tire size as i am.. Cut the fender and flare off below the header panel and reinstall your bumper caps. You'll thank yourself after you take it out a few times.
Personally, its not worth it to me digging through a junk yard for an s-10, pulling another set of rusty leafs off a vehicle I have no interest in, cutting the eyes off, and bolting them to my main. I'm married with 2 kids, full time job and full time student. I have an extra $200 to come by much easier than a few hours.

Besides, my main leaf was about to snap it was wrapped so bad. They were literally in the shape of a recurve bow. Even if I wanted to build a bastard pack I would have never felt safe on those main leafs.

Already did.

Thats your opinion and your more than welcome to it. Just throwing out other suggestions for those who may be watching the thread and need a cheaper option.

Jeep looks good. I still need to do that cut.

You can fit 32s on2.5 ish inches of lift with trimmig... It's what I did and I love the look of tire to lift ratio it just looks right... And I personally don't think I would be happier with 33s so I say do what you think will look best

You can paint it or use a heat gun.

Default HELP

Hey guys I am a new member of this website and I was wondering if I could get some help. I have a 99 xj I am thinking on a rough country lift 4.5 inch. I need info on this company and if I should look at different companies. Another thing is if i get a 4.5 inch lift would that be all I would need to get to keep my vehicle safe. In other words would I need to get anything besides my suspension kit, because I know when you get up to 6 and 7 inch lifts you need to add extra extensions and parts, would you need to do that for a 4.5 inch suspension kit? Never done this before so any knowledge that you have would help. Thanks.
WHat all would I need to add on if i got the 4.5 inch and what is the best brand??

What size tires do you want to run?

What terrain are you going to be driving in/ on?

What is your budget?

Are you going to install this yourself?

Will you calm down and let us help you?

Best way I found info on lift companies was using the search function. Click on advanced search, and search through thread titles only for "lift kit problems"...or similar. This find you a bunch of threads started by guys who just got done lifting their jeep, which should be a joyous moment, except for they ran into problems. RC lifts are among the most complained about when you do that.

Even at 4.5" you will probably need to either do a TC drop or install an SYE to eliminate drivetrain vibrations that will occur. Longer brake lines. You will also need an adjustable trackbar and longer LCA's or CA drop brackets are pretty much necessary.

The brands I personally recommend you look into (that are reasonable) are Rusty's, IRO, Zone, and OME. I'm not a big fan of RE spring (I like their arms, trackbars, etc...just not their springs) because they lift a lot more than advertised and have about the stiffest spring rate out there. A lot of guys like getting more lift for free, but an extra 1" in the rear can cost you a lot of extra $$$ when it comes to SYE's etc.

I pieced mine together with different brand components. I got 4.5" in front and 4" in the rear. I have a .75" TC drop and no vibes. If I adjust my lift shackle up an inch my DS binds whenever the rear unloads (while braking). Check out my build thread (linked in my sig) since its about the height you're wanting to see what all you need to get. Look at other guys build threads with the same lift and see what they had to do. Read, read, read, then decide.

BTW, just ignore the stock short arms...they should be getting replaced soon.
