Yes, you just have to watch what series you get. You didn't say the whole size so you were half right.

Here's the math for metric tires:
235/65R17

235 is the width of the tire in millimeters
65 is the sidewall ration. The sidewall on this one is 65% of the width. 65% of 235 is 152.75 millimeters.
152.75+152.75= 305.5 mm total height + 17" for the hole in the middle 29.02"

or just use an online tire conversion calculator...

Default Am I going to need SYE?

Hey guys I'm brand new to jeeping and everything it involves, lifting, modding, etc. anyways I just ordered a new 4.5 inch lift kit with full rear leaf springs from Zone Offroad for my 01 xj 4x4 4 door automatic sport and plan on getting installed at my local 4wd shop along with some new 15x8 wheels and 32" BFG all terrains. My question is, am I going to HAVE to get and SYE or make any adjustments to my gears? Idk what gears I have in right now I bought the jeep used so I'm guessing stock. I'm not planning on rock crawling or mudding or anything just want to get a more aggressive look and take offroad from time to time: camping, skiing, etc but it still needs to function as my daily driver any suggestions where I could get one for fairly cheep if need be? I'm a college student so I can't break the bank any help would be appreciated thanks!

You will probably need an SYE, and most of them on the market are the same. Your gears will be alright on 32s, but you might need to shift out of Overdrive when going up hills on the highway.

Oh, and good choice on the Zone lift.

You don't have to do either but an 01 with 4.5" of lift will most probably get a noticible vibration without an SYE. If you have stock gears (3.55) you will notice a loss of power and will burn more fuel with 32's

Could I fix the vibrations with a T-case drop or does it HAVE to be an SYE?... I'm just thinking cost right now. And thanks for the quick replies guys very helpful!

Tc drop is more of a bandaid, sye is better in the long run.

TC drop moves the problem from the TC to the motor mounts. You save money on the SYE, but you wear out your mounts faster and lose ground clearance.

Ok I'll look in to getting one of those as soon as I can afford it! What gear ratios do you guys suggest if I were to upgrade?
