Is Rusty's stuff really that bad? I have heard nothing but good stuff about them, I guess I have been listening to the wrong people. What 3" - 3.5" full leaf kits would you guys recommend then?

Well maybe if I explained a little bit about what I want to do with the Jeep you guys could point me in the right direction, I plan to do the lift and tires and maybe some other small modifications to this Jeep and just use it as a weekend warrior sometimes, mainly it will be my DD...

I don't consider Rusty's parts safe. His springs are fine, but his other parts have a history of failure.

I recommend Zone in that price range. Rubicon Express and Iron Rock Offroad are even better for a little more money.

Also consider Treadwright for good, cheap tires.

I have a 4.5 zone lift with full leafs. And very pleased with it. Not a bad ride.

Rubicon express will be your best bet for on road and off road.

Zone is decent on road. And decent off road.

Rc sucks on road. It will ride like a loaded dump truck.

Rustys has issues with settling and joints failing. Worst of all rustys has a baaaaaad history with track bars snapping.

No..rustys really isn't that bad.
I've ran 2 different lifts from them and was pleased both times.
They are much better than rough country (whih I've also ran before).
I'd even go as far as saying that rustys leafs are better than rubicon express. (Which I run now)
Rustys coils have a lower spring rate which makes them pretty cushy on the road.
If you get the rustys lift you could always add lower control arms and nicer shocks later..and you'd have a decent little setup.

And a timebomb track bar waiting to shear on the highway. I wouldn't propagate it if it hadn't have happened dozens of times already.

His springs, as I said, aren't bad. You couldn't pay me to use his suspension components.

Well the kit I am looking at from Rusty's does not come with his track bar, when I am ready to replace the track bar I will buy it from another place if they are that bad. I am just looking at the 3" spring package.

I would buy springs from him if you're set on them, but I'd get the track bar and lower control arms from someone else.

It's just a simple 3 inch lift, shocks, coils, leafs.

I didn't suggest he buy a rustys tb. Hell..he doesn't even need one at 3 inches.

As I said I am just looking to fit 31" tires under my Xj without any rubbing or cutting, maybe throw a couple bumpers on it and take it mild trail riding, this has still got to be my daily driver for the time being.

Edit: I am also planning on an CIA and Exhaust as well but I know that has nothing to do with a lift.

Now I see the kit, and it's fine. At 3", LCAs and a TB should ideally be replaced.
