Dang it : / I guess im just keeping it at 3 in... what a kick in the nuts... lol. I rlly wanted to lift it higher... I just don't have 500$ to drop on extending my lift... So I guess im stuck with what I got until the old 4.0L dies... which could be a while. So theres no other cheap and effective way? If not I will run 33s... maybe it will make it look higher.

Spacer/adapter to fit oem JK wheels on my '01 xj?
This is my first post so please excuse me for any errors. I have a 2001 xj that I mainly use for driving 4 hours to college back and forth, but I do some light trail riding and camp a lot with it when weathers nice. I am really interested I picking up a friends set of '07 OEM JK wheels to powder coat them and install them on my jeep. I am aware of the bolt pattern misalignment so I was wondering if anyone knows of any good spacers that are very durable for this to be doable? I would like as little spacing as possible, just a very strong bolt pattern adapter. Thanks.

Spacers-$30
Brake lines-$40
Track bar-$200
Control arms-$100 or cheaper... Shop for deals online and through forums. You can run fixed LCA ones at 4.5" and use stock uppers.

Thanks guys... just don't have that kind of money. Thought maybe It could be more simple than that... What would happen if I would get extended a 3.5"... would I still need to replace all those parts? Because I was thinking if not il just buy the raer shackles and front coils and then put it on 33's and it should sit a bit higher...

No worries man... a 3" is currently on it... so if I bump it up to 3.5" and 33's that would give me a little more noticeable height I assume? Would I need to change all those parts to extend to a 3.5"?

Trim the fenders, mash over the sharp edges, add bump stops and run the 33's... You don't need more lift.

-Chevy "lowering shackles" at autozone: $34? (-$16)
-1.5" coil spacers: Autozone: $8 ea. (-$14)
-Brake lines can be relocated screwed on lower in the wheel well for free. (-$40)
-Hockey pucks (front) and 1x2 or 2x2 square tube (rear) increased bump stops (recommended) about $20 total. Rear helps keep the springs from overflexing, front is to keep the tires from stuffing into the wheel wells (if you have trouble with this) Just be careful with the stock rears when adding the tube spacers, my rubber broke off with lateral force (bumped from the side). (+20)
-Control arms: can't get any cheaper. I paid $125 for my xflex used. I priced out making my own and it ends up being about the same (heims are about $40 a piece with the inserts). You can look at the "what junkyard parts will fit a cherokee" sticky for some ideas. I can't remember if WJ lowers are longer. Definately tougher. (+-0?)
-Use washers/spacers to lower cross member to help with driveline angle. If you're just going for looks, this would remove the necessity of a SYE at the cost of belly clearance. Probably $10-15 in washers and longer bolts? (-$180)
Brings it under $400 for 4.5", I think. Not as functional of a lift, perhaps.
It's been a novel thought to me for a while, but finding rims is hard for me. Treadwright has the tires for $140, though, and locally one can pick up a stack of 16 surplus Humvee tires/wheels for a few hundred bucks, but they're still 8 lug.
I did just pick up some beadlocks that were made from a set of stock rims. Can't wait to hit the trail with them!

A TC drop just moves the problem from the TC to the motor mounts, and that creates a new host of problems when they fail.
Still need a track bar.
At 4.5", he should get UCAs.
Past 3" he should get extended brake lines.
Shocks.
It isn't worth any amount of money to lift .5" more, unless you have some very oddly specific reason. You won't notice, and it won't give significant added clearance.

I thought WJ LCAs were same length as XJ just boxed in and curved a bit with better bushings. I know you grind down the bushing sleeves to fit in the XJ.
