Lift question

I installed new crown HD leafs
In the mail is my new 3inch steel coil spacers
My question is which is the least of two evils
Extended shackles or 3 inch AAL ?
Also what other shocks can I look for on C/L
For cheap?
Thanks!

You'll probably be alright with an aal if your leaves are new, the issue that comes with them is if you use them on worn out stock leaves. They're basically the only thing holding your jeep at that level so they wear out stupid quick. But you should be fine.

New stock height leafs will fight against a 3" AAL with more force that a busted old leaf pack. AAL just isn't ideal, but a 3" shackle is likely worse.

OP, why did you get factory leafs if you knew you were lifting? I'm curious.

As for shocks, look at factory JK Wrangler shocks. Rubicon shocks are stiffer than the others.

Getting ready to install a H&T on my NP242. Which method should I use to cut the output shaft? Put it in gear and let it cut itself with hacksaw, or cut-off wheel?

Thanks. More questions. Looks like I have the RE SYE kit but no instructions and the wrong seal. I've already emailed RE but if anybody knows the PN for the seal that would be helpful since I have it apart right now.

2nd question. Do I really need to cut the end off the output shaft? It seems that's only going to be about 1 inch. There's already a shallow hole that can be drilled out for the bolt.

Edit: Never mind, found the seal PN. FED #473317 seal

3rd question, does the seal go in the inside of the plate or the outside?

I got it figured out. Sorry for all the questions but I have an unused seal adapter plate with the wrong size seal and the SYE flange that was used on a 231 that didn't need the seal adapter so the seal area is rusted. All this combined made me very confused. I now see I need to clean up the seal surface on the SYE flange adapter and this rides inside the seal, and also why it's necessary to cut the output shaft to a specific length.

If you're talking about the shift indicator shaft (I think that's what it's called), you have to cut it down if its too long, otherwise it won't let you shift through all gears. Measure it, you may not have to cut it.
