do you have driveline vibrations? if so, yes you need one. if not then you probably don't need one unless you go any higher. newer model xj's tend to start getting vibes earlier than the older models(high wise). why? ain't got a clue.
it's always good to go ahead and get an sye though. that way you don't have to worry about it.
Edit: damnit clown...

Depends on whether or not your rig wants one. Won't know til she sits higher. Many people use a TC drop as a solution, but that just moves the problem from the driveshaft to the motor mounts.
Most SYE kits are the same, so I suggest finding a few cheap options and then asking peoples' opinions about those particular brands.

so alot of ppl are saying that rc is terrible and is not worth buying so idk what to buy atm i was going to buy the 3in rc series 2 with full reaf leafs and new control arms and sway bar brackets. buy atm the Rc lift will run 670 and the zone lift is 590 not to mention zone lift doesnt include the control arms and drop brackets.
these are the kits i was looking at i am mainly going to use it as a DD with some offroad but i know ive been rambling and looking for some help but ty im new to lifting and know nothing about this stuff

4.5" rc xseries, only complaint I have had was the length of the rear leaf. However, I was planning on Shackle box relocators, so the rears leafs were not a deterrent. For the price, you really can't beat RC. The majority of the RC haters out there don't/ and never have owned RC. They just jumped on the cool kids bandwagon at some point, and now they are just stuck.
