Thanks. I'm gana have to go lifted eventually. If I it really big bumps my tire rubs on the fender because of the wheels I have on. This would be a temporary fix.

Default 2000 xj 3" OME LIFT

so I'm new to the forums and just bought my first jeep! 2000 xj and I just ordered a full OME 3" kit from rocky road. I have LT245/75R16. BFG A/T that I got a deal on and want to put on with the kit. The problem is that I need new wheels and don't know what size to get. The tires call for 16" with 5x4.5 lug pattern but I don't know what offset or width the tires/vehicle call for. I was looking at these

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/crr-3427712/overview/

Will the wheels fit the tires/ jeep? Rubbing issues with OME KIT.? Anything else I need?

the tires you want to run are a basically a 31x9.5 so they aren't much bigger than stock. at 4" back spacing this combo will be just fine. you won't have clearance issues. ill bet you can turn lock to lock without rubbing. they shouldn't protrude too much, but be ready for a wider stance. stock is 5.25" i went to 3.75" on 235's and they are almost more than i need. make sure your still within your states limits for tire protrusion!

Default Lift kit advice Please

Hey all,
I just got my first Cherokee its a stock 99'. Anyway I'm looking to lift it a little to run 31'' tires. I recently heard that the 3'' lift kits totally mess up the ride quality. I know that long arm kits are better but for a college kid on a budget I need a cheaper option. I want to lean towards the pre-runner side so it handles at speed on and off the highway. Any advice on kits, shocks etc would be much appreciated, thanks

Hey guys, anyone have any experience with these tires? Thinking about getting some in 35x12.5R15 for the truck. All the reviews I'm reading say that they are a great tire, but I just wanted to check here, before I drop $712. After all, I'm (nearly) certain that is more than I have spent on the truck to date.

I'd call them a dollar general tire. Call around and see if any shops can get you blems.

Whats this word? O.o I'm not as tire-knowledgeable as I probably ought to be. Bear in mind, this truck will probably only see hardcore wheeling occasionally. I don't really want to spend a lot, tbh, since I have to put tires on the XJ soon, too.

EDIT: I see you meant blemished. Good idea.

Blems = blemished. Often you can buy tires with minor cosmetic defects at a substantial discount. All you have to do is call a few shops and ask.

I have a 3.5" RE Super Ride full leaf replacement with RE monotube shocks setup on 31" tires (sits at an actual 4.5-5 inch lift height). It actually rides smoother and way more comfortably than my stock set up did. I live in the Berkshires of Western Mass. Lots of hills, mountainous roads, dirt roads, and the Mass Pike (on which I usually drive about 200mi round trip at 75mph every other week or so). Aside from my gas mileage being a little crappier, I love the comfort and ride of this setup and would recommend it to absolutely anyone. I ordered the shocks separately from the SuperRide kit and I think the total was around $700 (surprisingly off 4wheelparts website with rebates found online). Already had the tires.

Side note, installed a K&N cold air intake last week. Complete Flowmaster exhaust, wheel spacers (a gift from my gf for temp use till I find some wheels), rear bumper with tire carrier, trailer hitch, and RE track bar going in tomorrow.

Just picked up my 96 xj. Previous owner stated it has 5" lift on 31x10.50s. I have a hard time believing its a 5" suspension lift. Any opinions

Stock height is 17" from center of axle hub to bottom of fender.
Here is 4.5 - 5" on 31" tires = 23" from hub to fender.

as long as they're stock. measuring from axle to frame is pretty legit.
