All depends on what kinda road life and off-road performance you need. Of course BFG all terrains are good on and off general grabber AT2s are super good from what I hear. A buddy of mine is really happy with his cooper discoverer stt's. As far as red flags go I would if at all possible avoid Dayton timberlines. They're a fairly cheap all terrain but every set we get in used at our shop has cleats ripped off the sidewalls are super weak.

I was planning on putting in a 3 inch lift on my 99 cherokee and was told that it might break the steering box. Would i have to do anything to keep that from happening or would it even happen in the first place? any response is appreciated guys

The steering box spacer may break, but a hd one is like 35.00 if it makes any difference I've been running a 3.5" lift on my Xj for a few years with 33's and I am not easy on my rig. Mine is fine. If your worried about it but a steering box brace for like 50-75 and a hd spacer you'll be set

Yeah. That's a pretty easy and cheap upgrade.

C-ROK makes the spacer you want. I've heard about inconsistency and fitment issues with the JCR spacer.

I have the the c-rok. Both inner and outer. The issue of installing is the nature of having to grind the holes in the frame larger and the inconsistency of the factor frame inserts. However it's not the end of the world. I can't see how any manufacture would be different.

Ok I upped my lift from 2 inches, no transfer case drop to 4 inches, with a 1 inch drop, can hear a buzz/whine in the rear, but don't feel any vibes, is this the u joints getting used to the new angles?

Yeah sorry forgot to include the conditions and such I drive a decent amount my main concern atm is snow...I teach snowboarding so snow is not an excuse to call out of work. Normally don't get in too much trouble otherwise girlfriends moms driveway is the worst of it and I can do that in 2w easy.

If you drive in a lot of snow, a great tire to look at is the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac. I've got a set of them on my rig, and to be honest I couldn't ask for a better compromise in what my demands are for a tire.

1. They are very quiet on the highway for the aggressiveness of the tread pattern.

2. So far they perform really well off-road.

3. They EAT through deep snow, which is an often occurrence up here in Canada. Plus, you can stud them for the harder snow/ice. Mine are not studded, and on hard snow/ice they are much better than any all-season I've run, but are noticeably worse than a winter tire, which was to be expected.

I would almost describe these as a hybrid between an AT and an MT. They've got good sipes in them for winter driving, and suit my "weekend warrior" needs very well.

Only thing I can't comment on is tread wear, I haven't had them on long enough.

Hey guys stupid question:

I just got my new Summit Racing D window wheels it'll be a bit before I get tires mounted so i wanted to pull one out of the box and just make sure I have the right lug patter etc... So I pulled a front tire and just a hung a wheel on to check it out... Did I get the the right ones? They are 3.75 BS.

They seem a little wide, (meaning the rim sits out a little bit past the stock fender flares, maybe it's just that I'm used to the stock wheel look) Just wanna make sure before it's 2/3 months down the road and I can't return them. I have a 3" lift and plan on 31x10.50 tires.

Here's the specs on the rim

That is the funniest picture in the world. Looks like 2ft of lift. The fact that there is less backspacing means the rim sits more forward or off the knuckle/assembly

Lol yeah so by "sitting forward" I will get a wider overall stance, right? No issues with rubbing etc. with 31x10.50 tires??

you will rub easier offroad though. Instead of the tire tucking into the wheel well, it will hit the flare/fender, because the wheel sticks further out.

On road, the tire will be further from the lca, so less likely to rub.

What lift will you be running?

If you like the roller skate look then they're fine but a 4.5 bs would look a lot better IMO. It would sit more in line with your flares.
