So I have my first Cherokee* and have a fairly straight forward question:

I am wondering if I can get by for 1-week with a stock Cherokee if I mount Goodyear Duratracs (265-75r16's) to the stock rims?


Fine print:
I have a Rusty's 3" lift at home and ready to go on, just need to wait for an opening in the garage to get it all installed. I realize that this is NOT a long term solution, I just need the vehicle for work and the combination of snow covered roads and high-mileage all season tires is...interesting at best and scary at worst. So I'm thinking I'd rather risk a little rubbing than have an accident. But, I dont want to tear my fenders to shreds either if I hit a bump. Commute is 40 miles of highway and then some paved secondary roads. In other words, nothing requiring any flex

*2000 Classic, with stock everything and weak, but not super-saggy, rear leafs.
Any thoughts?

well to start... Your stock rims are 15 inch so unless that was a typo or the previous owner put 16's on.... They won't fit

My bad, I assumed that 16's were stock. PO must have swapped them?

3" lift.... track bar is original with 156k miles... should I get an OEM replacement or an adj one like IRO double shear?

Thrust angle is off just a little.

You should replace the track bar at 3" or more.

No drop bracket, but a double shear track bar (the better option) will come with a replacement bracket.

Default tires needed, lift kit needed????

I dont know if i am posting this in the right section. I am just trying to figure out if these new tires will fit my stock jeep wj without modification of if they require it, how much. I have a 99 Grand Cherokee with the stock 225/75/16s right now. I found a hell of a steal on some new tires with rims the only issue is they are 255/70/18. I just dont know if they will fit without rubbing and scrubbing or if I have to do any modification. I know the newer Wranglers come stock with the 255/70/18s. i am fairly new to the mechanical world of jeeps. I had an older xj before it died a horrible fiery death. Any help and advice is GREATLY appreciated.

Is it absolutely necessary to remove the entire leaf pack from the unibody or is it possible to undo the Ubolts, clamps and center pin to slide the new leaf in? Thanks for the input

No but its easier to remove everything. You can leave the main leaf bolted up
