Buddy of mine has a 3.5" lift and 31x10.5x15s with 3.75 backspacing on a WJ with no rub. Any bigger and he would probably rub alot.

Yeah, why not just spring for RE 5.5 leaf packs and put 2.5" coil spacers up front?
Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for with lifts.

Hello everyone need some orientation ...
So... I'm getting this offer for Qty: 5 255 / 75 / R17 (32'') , aprox 95% threat, great condition **with rims**. for 500 bucks.
i know the dude for a wile now and he upgraded to 35s... so he made me that offer.
Right now i have stock tires they suck! but anyways ... and i was wondering how my xj will work with those... daly driver, highway, "upstate" weekend trip, nothing mild or extreme for the moment but definitely some offloading situations... i know i will have to get a lift kit too but lets do one and then the other ... to be honest mi ideal is a smaller rim, ..before this i offer was thinking on swapping 3.5'' lift kit with 31/10.5/r15... but now I'm confused, think this is a good offer...
... please help, advise or critic, and if you have pictures of that setup please share,
Thank you.

Need new tires......
Hey guys I've got a set of stock aluminum wheels on the 89 XJ and another set of stock 5 spoke steels. I'd like to keep running the aluminum wheels for now. what I need to know is what's the biggest tire size I can run. Current tire size is 235/75/15. Front fenders are trimmed with 5 1/2 inches from tire face to fender edge, rear quarters had been cut and rolled again with 5 1/2 inches from tire face to quarter edge. Suspension is stock.
Got a tear in my left rear inner side wall that is now leaking so tires are needed, I just want to get the biggest on it now seeing I'm gonna get a whole new set.
Thanks for any guidance you can give on this.
