Ha, yea I just put a heavy bumper on the front that was my first idea but it didn't help. Since I put the new 33's on you can really tell the level is off.

I recently got a killer deal on a 99 xj but im confused on how big the lift is i wanna buy new coils and leafs but i dont know what size i need jeep currently sits 24 - 26 inches from ground to frame under driver door, has 35 inch tires on it with plenty of clearance and ideas on how to tell what lift i have or what i might need, it is a long arm system but has no markings on any of the suspension to give me a idea who made it. it looks like rustys 6.5 or 8 but im not sure

Post a few close up pictures and I'm sure some one will recognize it.

Got all this for $75... Looks like 3" coils, rusty old stock packs with a 3" add-a-leaf, stock front sway bar, 3 blown shocks, drop pitman arm, and mystery fixed LCAs...
Anyone have any idea what brand this stuff is, or does anyone want to correct me if I'm wrong about what I got?
Would really like to know what brand the LCAs are... Spent an hour google-surfing and still no luck.
Also, it looks like the next-to-last (next-to-bottom) leaf is the add-a-leaf... Can anyone confirm this? I'd like to pull them and put them in my packs.
If it helps, here's one close-up of the leaf packs and one of the LCAs.

Don't use those u-bolts, get definitely get new ones. Also, those springs look like V8 ZJ springs, which will net 1-2". I liked the way they rode though.

Stock height with less backspacing on wheels
Looking for new wheels for my 91 Cherokee. Most of the ones I see that I like have 4.5-3.75 back spacing. I have stock 235/75 R15 tires and my jeep is stock height. Im worried about rubbing on the fender if I change the backspacing. Any input?

Thanks, though.
Guess I'll continue my search... So far Fat Bob's 3", BDS 3", and Skyjacker 4" are what I've come up with.
Anyone else have ideas?

I've got a friend who builds mud trucks and has it pretty well in with a shop that supplies lift kits and other parts. Anyways he says he will lift the jeep to fit 35s and regear, brake lines, etc. pretty much on the house. Has anyone here gone from completely stock to 35s? What kind of loss in power, gas mileage, handling can I expect and is there any point in tires that big? He mostly wants to do it because it would look ridiculous, but I'm all for it anyways.

If you don't regear it will suck, big time. Mine drives down the road fine on 35's. Power loss is slight, but the gearing is pretty much necessary if you're concerned about power loss. Go ahead and do 4.88 gears, I'm on 4.56's and would appreciate it being a hair deeper.

Edit: I've got a 5 speed, I should be fine with 4.56s right?

Its the same thing as if you just bought a prius or suburban or a nice sized pickup. You get use to how it handles. How to be on the gas and brake. Regearing would help to get power and gas mileage back but it would never feel stock again. You'd get use t it though
