Ok, extend them fully and measure "EYE TO EYE". And do the same compressed. Those are the measurements. What you can do is remove your existing shock and flex your jeep to get the measurements you'll need. Also with the rubi shocks, you'll need to use your bar pins, not the ones in there

So you used them with 3 inch lift coils? And got what kinda height outta that running what tires? How does that ride having the "too short" of shocks? And idk if it makes a difference but they're 4dr Rubicon tow package shocks...

3" lift from the coils, but they were nearly maxed out at ride height. Ride quality sucks, no articulation, and it kills the shocks very quickly. Shocks don't affect ride height. And mine were also 4dr Rubi shocks.

OK one last question from me and I think I will be informed enough to start making purchases.
I know if I asked what shocks to buy i would get the standard Bilstein or possibly Fox reply, but what if I was looking for a budget shock to get me over the hump and only be used for 8-9 months? The reason I ask this is because I know I need new shocks on my XJ, fronts and rears are stock lengths, fronts might actually be OEM. The rear was lifted when I got it and I need to lift the front to match. My problem with dropping the money on the better shocks is that I am going to be putting two vehicles on the road within a month or so of each other and money will be tight till after Christmas and by then no one wants to be laying around in the snow swapping shocks.
So in the mean time, if you were limited to about a $200-$250 budget what shocks would you get? Keep in mind that these shocks will be coming off once the my other car comes out of hibernation in the spring and and I can park the XJ for a day or two to do the swap. I need to have both road safe and ready to roll this summer. My Stealth needs to be running after this weekend and the Jeep needs to be on the road before mid September

Tires
I am about to buy a 2001 Cherokee sport 2wd. Knowing that I am not going to be lifting this. I am looking at what tires I can put on this that will be good on the street and a little bit of mud here and there going to fishing holes. I am not going to lift this nor does it have 4wd. Any suggestions are great. Thanks.

Cooper AT3s are great tires and fairly cheap. Sell a lot of them. I love my BFGs and have never had a customer complain about them. As a tire guy I don't recommend the firestones a lot because I've seen SO many come in the shop absolutely shredded to the rim. They do perform well but if just don't trust them a whole lot

RE 4.5" Leafs lift stock shackle or RE 3.5" with RC 1.5" Shackle
Hello All,
I'm upgrading my lift on my 92 2WD 5spd PreRunner Project. I'm finally taking out the old RC 3" AAL lift (She's starting to sag in the rear). I want a better ride, so I'm going with RE 4.5 Springs and Leafs. Right now my Rig sits at about 4 to 4.5 in lift. I also have RC 1.5" Lift Spacers in the front & RC 1.5/2" lift Shackles in the rear. Should I go back to the stock shackles or would it be best to get some RE shackles that come with the RE complete kit?? I don't want to go higher than 5" of lift. OR, should I go back to 4 Wheel Parts and swap my new RE 4.5" leafs for 3.5" and reuse my RC 1.5/2" lift shackles?? Will that ride better on and off road?? help!

I currently have a three inch rc lift and want to make my way to a long arm kit. I plan on leaving the back alone since the back sits higher than the front. I play on buying 4.5 inch coils and an adjustable trac bar. I've seen both positive reviews of rough country's long arm upgrade. So far I like my rc lift just okay. Am I missing anything to do the upgrade and could anyone give me a suggestion for another long arm upgrade kit at 4.5 inches?
I just lifted my xj 6.5 inches with an SYE and tom woods drive shaft after getting it aligned twice it still had an insane wobble at about 35. Removed the front drive shaft and that stopped the wobble. It then sat for a couple of days and went to drive it again today still with no front drive shaft in and it was wobbling like crazy again at 35.. can someone point me in the right direction here
