Ok, so Im inches away from springing (pun intended) for a lift. Not sure of ill go with RC or Zone....If i go RC, should i get the series 2 with non-adjustable lcas or are they not worth it? I was thinking of just relocating the track bar for now to keep cost down. Dont get me wrong. I can spend up to about a grand on the suspension, but i figure if i just go with no new lcas or track bar, thats $250-$300 more ill have towards tires...

Or I could order OME leafs, RC (or other cheap) coils, and bushings and hardware and just get cheap shocks....Is OME worth it if im not going for their shocks? Or is it easier to just go with a kit that comes with basically the same (non) quality of shock that id buy with the ome? Basically what im saying is that if i put together an Ome setup id buy cheap shocks anyways, so is it worth the cost and effort to get their springs over those of another budget brand? Im really leaning kit at the moment just for simplicity and shipping costs lower due to buying the kit all from the same site. Also does rc still do a discount for cherokee forum members? that will probably sway me a lot too, as well as their good customer service reviews recently

I wouldn't buy from RC direct. I called them when I was going to order my long arm kit and the dude would not give any discount on the parts or shipping. He was basically an ***. I went to Morris and at least I got free shipping. Saved me 50 bucks. As far as a Frankenstein lift, go for it. I'm still collecting parts but will end up with a 4.5" long arm set up using RE springs RC arms JKS disos and Bilsteins for around $2,000 total and that's including IRO double shear, SYE, and driveshaft. Shop around you can find good deals everywhere

I am starting to plan ahead for a lift, only going 2 inches for now. What I am finding, or actually not finding, are rear leafs for 2 inch lifts. Everyone wants to sell AAL or shackles for anything under 3 inches. Does anyone know of a place selling a 2 inch lift leaf spring? Or would I be better off buying a stock leaf spring and adding shackles?

BTW, this is for an 85xj which is all original, so the springs are kinda tired lol.

I'm looking at new tires. Originally I only wanted a 30" tire but looking around last night I found out I can get a 245/75/16 basically a 31" tire for CHEAPER than the 30s.

My question is, does an inch really make a big difference in mileage/power? Especially when I'm not going with an aggressive off road tread?

OME sells em. DPG Off road seems to be the go-to place for OME stuff...Talk to Dirk. Apparently a pretty good dude. Also I found some OME 2 inch lift springs on 4x4connection.com. I had never heard of them, but I scanned through a yota thread about them and all the reviews of the site were positive...Also, supposedly the spring packs are on sale for a few dollars off on that site, too. They're listed as $125 per pack. But remember that you need to buy bushings, too, depending on who you buy from.

Don't remember who I talked to. Just seems to be a shame that I can buy parts from a retailer for cheaper than the manufacturer.

They do that intentionally, if it costs more from a dealer than why would you buy from them. Doing it like that gets them more sales.

Ok, so I hear that shocks that come in a RC kit aren't that good. A base RC 3 inch lift goes for $510. If I get OME leaf springs for $250-275, coils from Iron Rock or something for $110, hardware and bushings for $75, and then cheap auto parts store Monroe shocks for like $150, adding up to about $500-600, would I be much happier than with the RC kit? Or would shipping costs due to ordering from different companies ruin this plan?

Unless your set on OME. Check out RE springs on amazon most of the stuff is free shipping

I totally want RE stuff but their 3.5" kits run closer to 4-4.5 I hear...And I can't swing the cashola to do an sye, shims, and driveshaft, as well as bigger tires (245/75/16 aka 30.4" tires are expensive enough due to rim size. I don't wanna spend another hundred or 2 on 31-32" tires...If they offered an actual 3" kit from RE id be all over it, as their superflex kits are right in my price range (under $850) and they're good quality and come with control arms and everything. But I just can't deal with an sye.

In short, RE is EXACTLY the balance between price and quality that im looking for (not super cheesy, but not overly expensive like tnt and bds) I just can't deal with the added complications resulting from their lifts being over 3.5"

Happy i saved up and did it right. Got my SYE so when my current Bastard pack wears out, im doing RE next and it should put me just about where i an now and if its higher, not a problem with the SYe

Problem is, im going back to school. Summer's over and most of the paychecks now will go directly into the tank, since I can't lobster in the school year and have to get a minimum wage job...I have a grand. I just want to have a bit of money to put into tires after lifting
