Hey all, brand spanking new here to the forum. Long time Jeep driver, but just recently decided to go and do a lift kit and tires. Here is what I have and what I am thinking of doing.
1998 Jeep Cherokee Classic 4x4
I am looking to purchase the Rough Country long arm kit 6.5" lift, dual stabilizer, SYE kit, and rear drive shaft.
My questions are, is there anything else I will need to do or should look at upgrading?
Additionally, what is required to fit 35" tires on my Jeep with that lift? I am looking at doing a 15x10 with 4" backspacing. Any thoughts or help is greatly appreciated.

Don't waste your money on a dual steering stabilizer. They don't help with anything, and they look cheesy to people with more experience. You will need to replace your factory steering at that height, and an upgraded system with proper installation doesn't even need a steering stabilizer.
I suggest 15x8 wheels for 12.5" wide tires. It'll hold a bead better than a 10" wide wheel. That said, I did use 15x10s on my first Jeep, and I still love how it looked.
Take a look at this:

This is what i'm considering doing with my 04 grand cherokeee;
2.5 lift from fat bob's
-- kit includes bilstein 5100 shocks
-- replacement springs
-- front sway bar disco's
should be able to run 31x10.5's
haven't decided on the tire yet. This is my dd so i don't want to get too crazy with it. Just to it to be capable, want to take it hunting next fall. No rock crawling or anything like that.

So i have a bit of a variable question, but maybe someone will know. Really just looking for a second opinion. I lightly chatted with my boss about lifting my jeep (hes got a ton of vehicle experience) I'm doing 3'' and going with 33-12.5-15 sitting on a 3.75 BS rim. Hes thought that my lift wouldn't really be enough to get any sort of suspension travel because the tires will stick out so wide they'll just hit the body before i get any flex. I do plan to fender trim. Thoughts?

The first pic the right front tire was 29-1-2" off the ground before the right rear lifted off the ground.

Really wish I could've followed through with my plans for 44s under a 3" lift. I had everything measured and drawn out, but the truck was totaled

[QUOTE="JerrytheJeep;2956425"]Ditch the bushwhakers, 500 bucks of shattered plastic is a real sobering moment. There are cheaper, and in my opinion, better looking flares out there. If you're dead set on plastic flares, Napier precision makes some decent ones, check out aj's offroad. /QUOTE]
I won't have the chance to get online till tomorrow afternoon to explore options. I too was looking at buying the flat flares from bushwacker. Thanks for the info as I haven't been too excited on dropping the amount of money they want on the flares.

Thanks, fellas. 3.5" lift with 33x12.5 Duratracs on 15x10 wheels with 4" backspacing.
It was really satisfying to get so many compliments after so many people told me that combination couldn't be done
Feels so long ago:
Unfortunately, it met a deer shortly after the lift went on. I rolled twice, and this is the result:
