So I'm looking into a new track bar...For a 3" lift, but I heard a couple people saying with small lifts that the bar would rub the diff cover and all...I don't wanna go through that, so has anyone had any experience with this bar http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merch...egory_Code=XSP
on a 3" lift?
May just try bushings first if they are bad...Only reason I'm buying is to fix death wobble. The steering geometry is fine for me right now

I ran IRO double shear when I was running a zone 3in lift without any problems.

Thanks guys! The IRO one seemed to be one of the only full bar (not tube) track bars that was in my price range! I didn't really wanna go full cheapo garbage, but I can't swing $250 on a track bar as a high school kid...
Hi!
I'm new to the forum, the reason i haven't introduced myself yet is because
1: i've done so much searching the forum the last 5 days my brain hurts
2: I'm new and feel like i have NOTHING to contribute (not too many biology/pre-med posts out there for me to give my $0.02)
99 XJ Sport bone stock (As far as i can tell). I finally feel as i've done enough research to ask a quality question and not have the first response be "google it"
The question: Looking for recommendations on a 2" lift (NOT A BB) parts that are Somewhat reliable (and affordable!) I really like doing things right the first time. i don't want to pay for something twice, and i also don't like buying the most expensive brand.
I've got time to visit junkyards if i need, i want to use parts that will last but won't break the bank and i'm willing to spend my own time to save money.
What rear leafs would you recommend? (Not AddALeaf) (bastard parts ok, but if please don't just say dodge dakoda i'm pretty sure there are LOTS OF YEARS/MODELS to choose from hence why i'm asking for specifics)
What front coil springs would you recommend?
What Shocks?
What year wrangler brake lines? (i will be replacing front calipers, rotors, and pads likely at the same time depending on my work schedule, so i might as well do the lines too right?)
I was debating between a 2" BB and a 3" springs/shocks kit ~$300 from a friend.... I don't like the can of worms that 3"+ lifts opens. I'd rather spend the $$$ on a smaller lift and risk fewer issues down the road. Right now my rear springs are just OK - and i want to load the back with camping gear, a few gas cans/fire wood on the roof, and tow a pop-up trailer now and then, so i figure i might as well get quality springs and go up 2" at the same time
My end game: Fit 31" tires with some fender trimming, Daily Driver, and Drive off road to a campsite once a month (from vegas to utah, about 15 miles of trails)
anything else? i really don't want to worry about replacing track bars, lower control arms, or slip yolk
Thanks! hopefully one day i'll have read enough posts and learned enough to help someone else out in the future

I recently gave my jeep a 3in lift. Coils, shocks, leaf packs, track bar, and new tie rods. Now I really want to add some 31in tires. A mechanic told me not to unless I regear the back axle. Any ideas on what to do?
Should I improve engine performance before adding the tires?
I was thinking about adding an aGe magnum cold air intake to help with power issues.

there are plenty of people running 31's on stock gears. I DD/wheel mine and is does just fine. When i go up to a bigger size ill probably regear but with 31's you'll be fine.

But secondly, it's not really worth it to regear for just 31" tires unless you can do it very very cheap. Some folks can do a super cheap regear by swapping in axles from another model XJ, but it depends on parts you can find and what engine and transmission you have. 4.0L with an AW4 automatic doesn't really need gears done for 31" tires.
No need really. Depends on what engine you have... hint hint
If you tell us a little more about your Jeep you can get a lot better advice on how to proceed. But 31" LT tires are nothing like running 35" many-ply boggers on stock gears.
