XJ with 2 in. susp. lift blocks and pucks.

Ordering a RC Adj. track bar (#1079) w/bracket off ebay for 140. A 4-6.5" range. I have RE coil-springs and leafs at 5.5", waiting for other components.

Q. Would I be ok to use the RC bar (w/ or w/o the drop mount?) just to keep things straight for now until I install the other stuff when my money tree grows?

I read a review somewhere that I'll need a drop pit-man and steering stabilizer.

Q. Do I need these now? or when I install the bigger springs?

I can't say this enough times:


Cherokees don't need a drop pitman arm if you have a functional steering setup.
Cherokees don't need a steering stabilizer if you have a functional steering setup.

Hi guys I'm planning to lift my 2001 Cherokee sport this summer. I want to start doing my research now. I am planning on 3 inches or 4.5 inches. What would you guys recommend? what is a good quality brand? and what other components do I need. Like a SYE etc.? I am completely stock right now and want to start with a lift.

Me, I run zone 4.5 full leaf and like it a lot. It was a little stiff at first but now its so flexy. I wouldn't run Yuck country buts that's just me, Others say they are fine, I dont want to go there on why I think they are no good someone else can. Just go with this,, "you get what you pay for", catch my drift..lol

I can give you this little bit of advice.

1; Determine your desired lift height and tire size along with the purpose for the lift. what kind of wheeling you're going to be doing.
2; Research, research, research. Determine which manufacturers met your requirements.
3; Formulate a parts list, and continue researching to confirm your choices.
4;Cost out your build based on the parts list above. You need to know what you are getting yourself into.
5; Start looking for the deals either from a retailer, eBay, Craigslist, or whatever source you identify. We have good vendors here on CF
6; Don't be impatient. Haste = lost $$$ and/or inferior lift.
7;When you've finally collected all your parts and you're ready to install, it's best to have some expert help. Jeeps like to throw you curve *****.

***For this entire process, the only notable mistake that I made was ordering my shocks(Yeah Right lol). I thought I had the correct shock lengths based on my research but they came out too short ($250 mistake). If you can wait until you have the lift on your vehicle, take your measurements then instead of guessing beforehand.
