Transfer Case Drop for 3" lift
Have my 3" Rough Country Lift installed. Picking up some vibration in the drive shaft. I see several TC lower kits, which seem to consist of 1" spacers and bolts at around $30 to $35. I'm thinking I can pick up some grade 8 bolts and probably find spacers at lower cost locally but.... lets say I do want to order some this morning... is there any recommendation on which one to get ? I see some that appear to be bars that span between each hole and some are just round spacers, leaving a gap between the holds after the TC is dropped.
Thanks in advance.

The correct fix is to install a Slip Yoke Eliminator and a CV driveshaft, which is designed to operate at steeper angles than the stock rear shaft

The problem is the angle of your rear driveshaft. A TC drop lowers the crossmember (in turn, also lowering the TC) so the driveshaft angle is closer to where it was. That's fine for the driveshaft, but your TC, transmission, and engine are all bolted together. That means your engine will be tilted back, which is bad for your motor mounts. And if your motor mounts are already worn out (most stock ones are by now), there's a chance it could allow your mechanical fan blades to shake hands with your radiator.

Makes sense. Cant swing the $500 to do the yoke and shaft upgrade right now. Hopefully old rims/tires and suspension parts sell to absorb part of that cost. Do I need to become a supporter to post in the classifieds ?

You need both. A TC drop will solve your problem 99% of the time, but it does less to other issues later. You could certainly run one temporarily, likely without any side effects. Just understand that you're relocating the problem with a TC drop; not fixing it

Ok thanks again. I have ordered one to use temporarily. Hopefully very temporarily. I have some stock items to sell. I tried to list I the classifieds but it would not allow me. Do I need to pay the supporter fee to access that feature ?

You need a minimum of 25 posts to post in the Classifieds section. Please make them constructive, though. Offer advice if you have it, or feel free to ask questions and further your knowledge if you aren't yet experienced enough to help. Certain sections, such as Cherokee Chat, don't count toward that requirement. It's focused on the Tech sections.

Ever heard of a Hack & Tap SYE? If you do this, and have an automatic transmission, it's really easy to use a front drive shaft from another XJ (junkyard, someone else's part-out) and do it for MUCH less.
