Good evening, I was curious if anyone has attempted or heard of an IFS Cherokee XJ. I have a 87'. I have read and done research, nothing to fruitful. I know it is pretty much sacrilege to replace a solid front axle in a jeep with anything else, so please forgive me in advance. I frequent the SO-CAL desert so pre runners and long travel toys are all the rage, so why not try and combine my passion for jeep and desert. I want a unicorn. You don't see many long travel IFS 87 XJ's tearing around Ocotillo. I have been curious about a same year exploder, a mid 90's Toyota 4runner maybe. so if anyone has thought of or attempted something along these lines, a point in the right direction would be much appreciated.
Twin traction beam XJ. You could probably get away with something slightly less fabricated and intense than their build, but if you are not experienced, you could potentially hurt yourself. Just a warning. Also, IFS isn't 100% necessary for fast offroad. Jeepspeeds seem to do fine. There are some really extreme Ford and Dodge 3/4 ton trucks that outpace Raptors.

Those desert guys are repeatedly jumping their rigs off dunes, and they thrive on IFS. I've jumped a couple of my Jeeps, several times. It isn't so enjoyable with a solid axle, and I kept waiting for things to break.

Jeepspeed is very different, at least in this area. Our JS guys are doing 60mph through the woods, up and down hills, building rigs with front trusses do they can keep going after hitting a tree stump at full speed.

I just received my RE 4.5 SF kit with full leafs and it came with 2" front lower bump stops. Im curious about if those are good enough for the front or should I add more. Also which bump stops I should get for the rear. My last xj had the RE 3.5 SR kit with 2" upper front bump stops not lower so I am not sure which route to go. Any suggestions?

Its been so long, I can't remember. It had a blown engine when I got it so I put a JDM spec 2.0L DOHC 4G63T from a EVO III. The turbo was 64-65mm if I remember. Only thing I did to that engine was an Intake, turbo manifold and exhaust upgrade. It had NO problem wrapping the speedo to 160mph. Disclaimer: Yes I said 160. How many people on here running long arms? And of those, what brand did you buy or did you make yourself, and what do you think? Been doing a bit of looking around and there's a lot more to choose from then I suspected. Radius arms vs 3 link vs 4 link. Some kits include a belly skid and others don't. What have you guys used that worked or didn't work and why?
