I just looked at the "How To's" section again. I chose my model (Cherokee 84-96), then chose "Steering and Suspension", then "How To Install Lift Kit". No mention in that article of track bar. I see no links on that page having to do with track bars.

There's a "Technical Write-Up/How To Section" forum sub-section that contains useful information. https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f30/

NP231 Transfer Case?
I'm about to order a RC 4.5" lift kit. I'm also going to order the RC rear driveshaft and SYE. It says that the SYE is intended for the NP231 transfer case only. Is there any way to confirm I have this transfer case on my '89 base model?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

But please seriously reconsider your choice of lift kit. That's one of the worst on the market.

I'm open to lift kit suggestions. What's so bad about the RC?
What 4.5" kit would be better and why?

Zone Offroad makes a budget friendly kit, but the best value lift kit on the market right now is the Rubicon Express 4.5" kit. That's my opinion based on the price, which components are included, and the quality of those parts.

Well the biggest issue is that their 4.5" leaf springs are too short, length-wise. It puts the rear shackles at the worst possible angle so your ride quality is drastically reduced, as is your offroad performance. Aside from that, they're a shoddy company with low-end parts, questionably ethical marketing strategies, and a hit-or-miss reputation for honoring their warranty.

I bought rc it sucks. I really wish I would've saved up for serious off-road's full lift kit. Includes everything you need so there are no questions, it's also a long arm kit not a crappy short arm kit. Definitely not the cheapest kit but i think it's the best option that I've seen.

Short arm isn't crappy; it's the factory system. Long arm does have many advantages, but that comes with increased cost and a more complex installation.
4.5" is where a long arm kit will start showing noticeable improvements in ride quality, but it really isn't considered necessary until 5.5" or higher.
And for what it's worth, "long arm" can mean many things. A radius arm style long arm kit won't benefit you that much over a quality short arm kit.

What condition is the underside of chassis on that '89 ? If there is corrosion than expect trouble with removing suspension components.

Ok, so if I go with the Rubicon Express 4.5" superflex, will the rough country CV driveshaft and SYE still be useful? Are there other brands of driveshaft/SYE to consider?

Pretty much any SYE kit will be the same, and there are numerous places to order those and driveshafts. I wouldn't give RC my money just on principle, but their SYE should be fine. They probably just re-brand someone else's parts.

I'd go to serious off-road's website for everything. He's got good products, alway around on here, very helpful, and best of all he loves jeeps.
