He was permanently banned from here for being an ***, breaking rules, and pissing off moderators. I had a terrible experience with him in trying to buy some parts. Took months of unanswered emails, PMs, and phone calls (during which he was active on here selling himself) to get some basic Omix-Ada seals and bearings.

You're sorry? For what? lol. A few very vocal people had a good experience with him. I have no idea if we dealt with separate people lol.
But yes he did get banned.

Ok, so I'm leaning toward the RE 4.5" Super Flex with monotube shocks and full rear leaf springs. I'm going to give my local 4Xguy a shot at matching the price I see online, and I'm likely to get the RC SYE and CV drive shaft, unless he thinks they are incompatable with the RE stuff for some reason, or otherwise of poor quality. I may add a steering damper if it seems prudent.
Constructive criticism welcome.

Seems reasonable. Don't worry about brand compatibility, the SYE and DS have nothing to do with the suspension, just your Jeep. Also, depending on what parts your XJ has, you may be able to refurbish a front DS from another XJ for much less than a new custom one. Most of them are the same stuff. I imagine RC is selling Omix-Ada (aka Rugged Ridge) SYEs, I think they're the cheapest around.
Steering damper comes in handy, the design of these is sketchy. The damper has nothing to do with death wobble, rather it absorbs shocks taken from bumps, reducing bump-steer and wear on the steering box. If yours is OE consider replacing it. The new taller angles will make the bump steer a little worse.

It's a great kit, and I'm sure you'll be happy with it. It will take some time for the rear springs to settle, and some people recommend adding a couple hundred pounds of whatever into the cargo area to assist.
The SYE should be fine, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from the cheapest company that has a real website.
The steering damper is a hot button issue. It can help make your driving experience more comfortable. But if your steering is set up correctly, you don't need one. Tons of people ditch it altogether when they upgrade to aftermarket steering assemblies. What the damper (or "steering stabilizer" as it's usually called here) will do is hide the symptoms of bump steer and, in extreme cases, death wobble.
These symptoms are common with a freshly lifted vehicle because the new geometry will more quickly reveal worn out parts due to the vehicle's age and use. It can be a pain to track these things down, but if they're bad after the lift, they were bad before the lift and you just didn't realize it.
STEERING STABILIZERS DO NOT FIX DEATH WOBBLE
No matter how many internet-certified mechanics disagree, science still hadn't bowed to their beliefs. If you do get DW or bump steer, we can help you track it down. Don't blindly throw parts at the problem or think a new (or two new) damper(s) will resolve your issue.
