So I am wanting to lift my 1994 Cherokee xj country, and I want to total around 5-5.5 inches. It's a DD, and I plan on running 33x10.50 tires, on back spacing up to 3.75. But the front suspension components have me bamboozled. I have access to a used 3-3.5 inch lift kit, complete with control arms, that in have no idea if they are stock or longer, and a track bar. Everything in the picture is included, the guy took it off and replaced it with a 6.5 inch long arm kit.
I am wanting to total the 5 inches however, for this look here
This jeep totals 5-5.5 inches, with 33x10.5's on 3.75 back spacing. I think it's a half inch or so higher in the front than the rear 5.5 and 5 respectively
So I want to know if there is anything I'll need to get to use with this kit besides what's there and spacers in the front and shackles or shackle relocate in the rear. I'm trying for the cheaper side of things.

You need much more, and cheap is not a word associated with a safe 5.5" lift on a Cherokee

looks like an add a leaf kit with stock control arms. I personally wouldn't buy it.
then what would a better way to do it be? A 4.5 with +1 inch, or what's it gonna run me to piece one together using separate parts, or a complete 5 inch?

I'd go all springs, long arms and a ton of other stuff at that height.

Alright guys... I've been trying to modify my axle-end tracbar mount for a while now. I've been soaking the bolt in penetrating oil (3M seeing as I'm out of PB) and the head of the bolt won't budge... AT ALL. It's gotten to the point that I'm afraid to even try now because it's beginning to round off and I definitely don't want that. I didn't have have any trouble with that bolt before put my lift on... although it's been a couple of years since I've tried.
Question is: Is it possible that with the lift being on and the new incorrect distance needed between tracbar and frame, that it's putting a bind on that bolt? If that's the case, would I be able to perhaps use a ratchet strap going in the opposite angle to take the strain OFF the bolt and finally be able to turn it? It kinda makes sense to me that this is what's going on, but I just wanted to put feelers out to figure out if I'm way off base in my thinking or if others have had the same issue and solved it this way.
Really just depends on which "factory" leaf springs you're looking for..
Cheapest standard duty spring on QT is 105 bucks each. There's an OA leaf spring for 95 each + a $20 rebate, but it's an HD spring... would probably last longer, but would ride stiffer and probably a little taller.
Cheapest on RA for a standard duty spring is 146 each plus shipping.
I normally get all my parts from RockAuto and so that's generally what I push, but it always pays to shop around... hell, check amazon.com too.
Bottom line though, unless you know for sure that you're never going to lift your jeep, don't get OEM replacement springs. For that amount of money, you can get 3.5" lift Rubicon Express leaf packs.
Just be sure about what you're wanting to do, ya know?
Sometimes you can find decent sets of leaf packs at the junkyard as well... generally they range between 20-40 bucks a pack.
So my question is do i upgrade the steering and if so to what?? 99xj maine
Is it stock now? V8 ZJ steering is popular, cheap and an upgrade over stock. But a double shear track bar is about all you need to go up, the ZJ steering is just a good option to beef it up while you're recentering your axle.
Edit- watch out for brake line adjustments! Also, driveline adjustments might come into play- 3.5" is generally the cutoff. 4.5" basically necessitates a SYE or you'll be eating u joints.. Also don't do a TC drop ( if ya can) cause it will cause front driveline angles to be off.
