32" tire will most certainly need trimming to accommodate at 3".

With my 3" lift I had to trim for 31's. If you ride with a passenger, you need to have a person in the front with you when you check for rub. The weight will have an effect.

Oh ya at 3" trimming will be necessary. I thought we were talking 4.5 inches. Sorry about that.

Will a 255 / 75 17 work with this configuration with out cutting the body?
You'll have to do considerable trimming. I'm running 255 75's on JK moabs with around 5.25"-5.5" lift and had to trim the back side of my front fenders, as well as add some hockey pucks to keep from rubbing at full flex. I was able to trim the sheet metal and factory flares to retain the factory look, but also sacraficed some up travel in the process.

This is with one hockey puck, Daystar extended bumpstops, and before trimming.

Default Preparing for DIY lift

I've got my Front coils and leafs for a bastard pack and I'm hoping for 3 to 3.5" of lift. My question is for those who have gone this route. What bushings should I plan to change? and which kits or types would you recommend? There are big price differences between OEM and fancier rubber compounds. Thanks in advance for your help.

Default High school student looking for opinions.

I am in high school i have a 1998 XJ. I need this to be an every day driver. I am looking to put on a 4.5 inch lift and upgrade to 31's. I don't have a whole lot of money but don't want to buy crap. I have heard good things about Zone off-road but looking for more opinions.

I'm old and don't have a lot of money! But I put a 4 1/2 Zone kit in my 91 and I'm very happy and money well spent. My kit did come with transfer case drop kit and I have had no vibration problems.

All I have to say is go with full leaf packs and not AAL.

All of them that you touch. These vehicles aren't new, and they could benefit from a little freshening up.

This. Can't stress it enough. Dependin on the kit you get, it should come with new leaf springs bushings and shock bushings (if your kit includes shocks). If it comes with lower control arms, those will probably have bushings too. If it doesn't, then replace all that I just mentioned.

Zone is great stuff. Never have heard an ill word about their product, nor their customer service and warranty. Rubicon Express is another great option. The more pricey options, yet still great quality, are BDS, Metal Cloak, Clayton, and Old Man Emu. Teraflex used to make a great product too, but I don't know what's happened to them.

Stay away from Rusty's, RC, Skyjacker, and Fabtech. Their lifts are stiff and ride very rough. Plus, some of the companies in that group have really crappy warranties or don't stand behind their products.

Does anybody on here happen to have pics of their Cherokee on 235/75s with either 3 or 4.5 inches of lift?

I am at about 4" on 235/75R15s and it is at the point where it starting to look like it has missed a few too many leg days
