Basslicks, your post is too much to quote! But I do wanna throw my 2 cents in about those short arms... If I could do it all over again I wouldn't have waisted my money on short Arms, I would have just went long arms and done it right the first time live and learn.

Hack n' tap from iron rock, cheap and effective. You can run your front shaft in the rear another benefit is you only need 1 spare shaft instead of 2 I've been running this for a few years now, really happy with its quality, it's held up nice. Doesn't break the bank either. http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/10482.html

get a real sye like one from advanced adapters. You can still run a front shaft or a zj front shaft but it comes with a heavy duty main shaft so you don't have to worry about the stock one failing. I've heard about hack n taps causing the output shaft to bend because of the axle drooping and it has so much hanging out unsupported. It's a lot easier to mess up a hack n tap then a full sye install.

Rusty's or Rough Country
I was looking into a 4.5" lift and was deciding between the Rusty's or the Rough Country. I noticed the Rusty's is about $150 more. I have never heard anything about Rusty's suspension. I did recently help a buddy of mine do a RC 3" on his TJ and everything seemed pretty nice except the fact that a lot of the stock hardware from the Jeep needed to be used and a lot of those old bolts are rusted and corroded.

You want quality on a budget go with zone. Made by bds. You want very good quality with a higher price tag go with Rubicon express.

I've got RE 3.5" springs, OME 2.75" leafs, RE shocks, jks track bar and ZJ steering. I need to replace the bushings on the ZJ steering. Any recommendations where to find that?
I also need bushings for the leaf springs, open to suggestions for that.
Installing Friday, so any suggesting on what I might be forgetting you be very appreciated.

Lift kit
I recently ordered a 4.5 lift kit it comes with lower control arms, a trac bar the whole nine yards, my question is I wanna go bigger say 6" would I be able to put a 1.5" coil spacer on top of the lift? It doesnt come with upper control arms but I can order them if need be. I don't care about ride quality. Just wondering if it will work. Thanks

I just found this info if anyone else is curious.
YJ front and rear brakes lines are 3-4 inches longer than XJ brakes lines. Stock rubber brake lines these are Raybestos part numbers for a 89-91 Wrangler, with no ABS Wrangler front, BH38861 & BH38862 (front lines are right & left mirror images) - 20 3/4" long Wrangler rear, BH38845 - 17 5/16" long XJ front 18 1/4" long XJ rear 13 3/8" long

SJ leaf spring bastard pack
Hey guys, I was looking at doing a bastard pack in the rear of my XJ. Easy topic, right? Been done before a thousand times.
I have a new question that I have never heard asked before.
I scored a set of leaf springs off the front of a '74 SJ Cherokee that my buddy is rebuilding. They are pretty stiff looking but in great shape and 2.5 inches wide. And the price is right.
Anybody know if they would be suitable for a bastard pack? I know it would work, but how crappy would my ride be? It is a 3 spring pack. What combo of leafs should I use?
A bit more information, my stock leaf springs are pretty tired, I'm looking for between 2 and 3 inches of lift probably just from the leaf springs, but I don't completely have my heart set. Probably getting longer shackles as well for an additional inch (or so) Sway bar is removed and I'm looking for a reasonable amount of downward flex. 8.25 rear axle.
Any input is welcome
