If I need to post this as a different thread lemme know, I just been noticing around the forum that if you're gonna run bigger anything you'll need to build the whole thing stronger to compensate for the stress. So what would I use for what size lift and tire combo? Just out of curiousity...of course

Also, if you can go into deep detail about this please PM me, I really want to know what I'll have to do in the future.

Question How to tell what lift is installed?

I picked up a '99 XJ Classic with a lift already installed and a mis-matched set of gears in the differentials on 32" tires. Since I am going to have to rebuild the Dana 30, or swap out the 35 in the rear, I need to fix the lift as well. The rear is a add-a-leaf, but NOT under the main leaf, front appears to be spacers and maybe coils too, but I can't use the sway bar quick disconnects because the coils pop out at this moment. Oh, and it has the short arms, but I can't tell about the vendor, and the owner did not know either.
And yes, I know a SYE kit is needed.

What size lift clears 32's with no trimming? Even with this mis-matched lift, it rides and flexes well, and I want to keep that as much as I can. I know from my CJ years I want full leaf springs. Is a 4.5 Rough Country the best bet, or maybe a 3" with shackles and spacers, installed correctly?

Thanks!

I'd go with 4.5 x-series from RC if you have the cash.

anyone running 31x12.50 on a 15x8 rim with fenders still on.

any pics would be appreciated Im trying to see a visual before I make my decision.

I really want the tires to stick outside the fenders a bit I dont like the tucked look.

what do you guys recom. as far as tire size and backspacing for the look I want.

Looks good. Mind sharing the measurement from cent of hub to bottom of fender front and rear? Would like to use it as a reference.

I have a set of 31/12.50 ( xterrains) on an 8" rim with 3.75" bs an the tires stick out past the stock flares approximately 2.0" in front and 1.5" in the rear! Sorry no pics.

anyone have any pics of this setup with stock fenders and around a 3" lift?

Which should I get, RC basic 4.5" kit or IRO 4"?
I'm thinking if my shocks don't sell, I might just get either one of these while I save up for either the Full Traction 4 link or Clayton 3 link.
The problem I have with RC is idk if they will not include the shocks and how much they would take off for that. I emailed them though so I guess we'll see.

Okay, does the Rough Country kit flex pretty well? Years ago, I used Skyjacker springs on my CJ's, and they worked pretty well.

getting ready to do the bastard pack in rear, probably gonna use the leaves from a '98 mountaineer to bolster up my a$$ end to 3-4", but i'll probably need some degree shims as well. how many degrees am i looking for? 2, 2.5, 4, 6? btw: i know i still need tc drop, or sye, but from what i read, renix years may be able to go up to 4" w/o it. is this true? (every rig is different, but i just need an idea of what to expect before i bolt everything on)
