It's all about the type of driving you do and percentage of time spent off road or in snow, mud. I run an AT tire on my 04 WJ but its main use is a DD in all conditions, we do have deep snow out here in the country where I live and 5 mi. to a main plowed road in the winter. What helps it is the fact that it has lsd's front D30 and rear D44a.

The XJ I expect more from it than just DD it sees all the conditions you would expect in the Ozark Mountains the N. end any way. On it I run an MT tire reason a lot more traction and they can clean the mud out where an AT can not very well and makes the problem worse.

I have a 4 1/2" lift and run 33" M/T's on the street/trail, also 35' MT's for off road only. The fact with this size of tires is that you have to change the gears to match them properly.

Default RC lift

I was going to run a 3in rc lift just because of how simple and easy it is to put in with add issues. Now I've found a 4.5 RC lift from a friend that has the full kit. It's packs not aal, has new upper and lower control arms and adjustable track bar. Just no t-case drop. He wants $100 more then the 3in. If I do his lift would I be okay or do I need anything else to install this kit. It is my daily and I really don't want to many issues I'd possible.

I would suggest a slip yoke eliminator and a "new" rear driveshaft. Cost me a little over $200 I believe all said and done and a lot better than the transfercase drop which at best is a bandaid. Depending on how you drive, wheel and what size tires determines the other items you may or may not need.

Looking to go to some bigger tires when i have to replace my 31's but want get new wheels rims as well. I was looking for something with 3.75" of bs but cant find anything that really looks good to me. I'd like to keep the stock base rim look as well as my jeep center hubcaps but cant find anything that would mix with it and wheel spacers are out of the question. Also, I have a 3" aal kit and after quite a bit of researching to calm my "I want to go to a giant kit" phase, i think i might just swap out the front coils for 4.5" Rusty's with 1.75" coil spacers and 2" drop shackles in the back. That way after new bumpers and a winch ill be sitting around 4.5" of lift all said and done. SYE is already installed and i plan to do the break lines with the other parts. Any suggestions or thoughts on both the lift and the offset rims? Thank you!

That's almost 7" of lift. You'll be sitting around 5.5-6" with accessories installed

You're right, thanks for pointing that out. I meant the .75 to give it a slight bump up to net overall about 4.5 in the front and keep it about level

If you want 4.5, just use the 4.5" coils. Most coil springs are a little higher than advertised to compensate for armor

Alright, I think ill do that. The other though was just put 1.75" spacers on the 3" coils but i think the 4.5" coils will be worth it.

I agree with you there. Coils don't cost much more than spacers, and you'll get more available wheel travel with the longer springs

That's my thought. The only other thing i imagine will also need to be done us possibly new shocks. I have the RC N2.0 shocks that come with the 3" kit but am not sure about their max height. Granted they might be alright for now as my xj really only sees light trails and some ruts but no crazy rock crawling.

Also, If i add a main leaf from an s10 to re arch the xj main will i still be able to use the AAL and net the same lift gain i would have with just the xj main. I know adding the s10 main will give me a little more lift from it rearching the xj main but im not sure if the aal will have the same effect in there after.

You'd be using the S10 donor as an AAL. Two 3" leafs won't make 6". They'll make a more resilient 3".
