Any experience with Acos adjustable coil spacers? I stumbled upon those and like the idea of them a lot. A new bump stop, and if the 4.5" coils aren't enough for the bastard pack and drop brackets, I can raise it up to the right height or level it, and if the leafs ever sag I can adjust it to match. And, theyre not plastic which is a huge bonus in my opinion. Are they too good to be true?

upper short arms
hey all,
I have an RE 3.5 super flex kit. I love how it performs however the kit does not come with new upper control arms. Am i loosing any flex by having the stock uppers?

You're alright at that height, but you can upgrade to higher quality bushings if you want a little bit more
No, I don't lick fish.

I haven't run them, but I plan to. I haven't ever heard anything negative about them. They're better than a traditional coil spacer for sure - keep in mind though that even though they're adjustable, they provide spacing even at "0" setting. In other words, to go back to a "no spacing" setting, you have to remove them. Not really a big deal in my opinion.

I have them on my 99 XJ used them when I increased the 3" lift on mine 1 1/2" Boomerang Shackles in the rear and the ACOS in the front. Very happy with the ride on/off road and flex off road with them.
The main reason I went with them was because of the Rustys 3" coils I had were for a winch/bumper setup and couldn't find the same weight rating in a 4 1/2" set. Well that and being able to adj. them to what ever height I desire. The quality is very good.

In your guys opinion, what would be the safer option? Keeping my 3" coils and using the acos spacers at about 2.25" of lift to lift the front up and level it out front to back (min is 1.5" of lift with adjuster on) or get 4.5" coils and a take the adjuster ring off so i only net .75" extra and keep the adjuster for if i ever need it for a new bumper and winch. I just dont want to run too far down on the bumpstop shaft. Its only .75 over the minimum and 1.5" from the max so half of me feels i will be fine just just using my 3" coils, but the other half feels like i should go with the bigger 4.5" coils.

A lot would depend on how well you like you current 3" coils and future plans. New coils are cheap the ACOS is not the reason I did was because of the weight of my current coils and not finding what I wanted. I only needed a 1 1/2" total for mine with the spacer.

IMO they get the job done, that being said they're just RC budget coils. I don't have much of a problem doing the spacers and 3" lift, I just dont want to run too far down on the bump stops. I'd also be fine doing 4.5" springs and the spacers but dont want to be at 6" in front and only 5" in back. I'd like a nice level, not a hoopty haha. Are there any manufacturers that make just 4" coils. 4" coils with the 1.5 spacing would probably be perfect and level it straight.

Spydie, do you plan to replace all the other things that go along with a 5" lift? It takes more than springs

I'm fine with sticking at 4.5" if it's less work, but its one of those "in for a dime in for a dollar" things. If i have everything open and it all up on the lift now, might as well get everything done at once. I also want to get the most out of my parts. I can set the rear shackles for 4.5" but figure why not use it fully and just make the front match with the spacers. My biggest hang up now is the 4.5" coils and make the spacers .75" or keep my 3" coils and make the spacers 2.25".

I got a 3" Pro Comp lift on my 97 Cherokee.
Trying to get an idea of the best "bang for my buck" tires.
I will mostly be highway, so nothing too extreme, but I would like a decent size tire. I know one small change in size and tire prices can sky rocket.
Any experience on a good common size that I can find good deals on?

31x10.5x15 is the most common 'small' size. 33s won't fit without moderate trimming, and they're more expensive.

get okay gas milage (16mpg) My buddy was running 33's on a 3" lift and was rubbing all over the place, almost no tuck and no turning radius. 32's would be alright for a 3" lift as well but imo if i was staying at 3" i'd keep running 31's

Yeah 31s on 3 is a nice setup. Here's mine w/ 3.5 on 31's w/ trimmed fenders.
