Hey Basslicks - Thanks for the review and compromise idea. Helps to hear you are running 32's with 3.55's - lots of wailing out there about sizing up from 31 without a gear change...how long have you had that combo in operation? Do you run/recommend a tranny cooler?
I have another possible route as well - I could steal the 31" mickeys off the CJ and put 33's on that - The CJ is geared up to 4.10 and I think it's got enough lift to handle them.

No, I don't lick fish.
The primary reason to go with SRBs is for more downtravel... not as a primary source of lift.
I recommend you go with a lift kit OR get a set of s10 or dakota leaf packs from the junk yard and then a set of coils off of amazon and start building your lift that way. Add in the SRBs later on if you decide you need to... not right off the bat.

That being said, I can still powerbrake it and spin the rear tires if I want to.

This isn't exactly lift or tires but I think we talk steering upgrades here too. Actually I might have asked this already. My memory isn't so great anymore. Anyway, has anybody heard of a broken knuckle or pitman arm after drilling/reaming for 1-ton TREs? Just wondering.

If you're asking because you're worried about it happening... Don't be. If you're asking if it has ever happened, then yes.
Will it happen under normal offroad use? Only if your parts are defective, as he said.

I've developed A LOT of anxiety as I've got older, and I just think, bigger hole = less strong. Then last year we saw a rig with a broken knuckle and it kind of triggered me. I'm in the process of changing my steering box so I'm triggered again. Hearing from the experts that it's HIGHLY unlikely is helpful. Thanks.

No. I asked the dealer about it. He said he has been selling IRO lifts and parts for 5 years now and has never had any of his customers have an issue with them.
IRO has been selling this set up for a while now. I researched the internet looking for any complaints or issues with it and I can't find any. Everything I have read mostly just talks about how well the kit flexes.
I just pulled the trigger on some Dick Cepek Extreme Country tires as well. 33x12.50s, $704 shipped to my door.

The IRO kit's caster adjustment has failed people before. But in every case I've seen (not many), there was improper installation or extreme circumstances to blame.
I think it's something to be aware of, for sure, but I think the kit is great for 99.9% of the people who would consider using it.
