From what Im reading, 31's will fit on stock wheels just fine except for some LCA rub ar full lock, that a lift wont help with anyway. Adjusting the turn lock on back of spindle, or longer bump stops will eliminate the LCA rub. Can anyone confirm this, or have experience running 31 BFG KO's on a 2 Inch lift?

31's
Basically yall, Here Is my conundrum. I am restoring it, but not to show or anything, and it will NOT be original Im sure. The interior is going have electronics that wasn't even around in 1990. I also plan to take it off road quite a bit. Before the "restore" I put that thing in some big holes, and was really impressed with its ability. I can find lots of info for 3-4-5 and above lifts, and everyone's first answer is go higher. So I was looking for more clearance/ability, but I do not want to go over 2 inches. Its going to be a daily driver, and trail / beach vehicle. So I'm trying to determine, what would help more, a larger diameter tire, l like a 31, or a wider 30. If those are even options. Thanks again for you insight, and did not mean to cause a battle.

Taller tires are more important for obstacles because they raise the axle higher off the ground for clearance

Thanks for proving my point? He wants new rims too. That quote reads as "I wanna get new 15 inch rims, but if 16s are the way to go I will"
And choosing tires is all about how you will drive. Clown gave some sound insight. What type of offroading? How often? How many miles a year will you average?

Four of five times with someone who has a new forerunner and afraid to get it dirty. So Of course, I want to get him stuck, and then have to pull him out. HAHA..
From what I'm hearing, Stick with 30's and stock rims for best options, anything wider, even on a 30 will probably rub. If get aftermarket rims, even with a spacer to prevent lca's from rubbing, the flares will rub.
Thanks guys

I say 235s are a better option

No. 235s measures out about 29.3 inches while 30s are about 29.7. You can get bfg KO2 in a 235 for cheaper in price and nearly the same size. Just trying to save you money. If you wanted a different tire, alot more options in a 235

No problem. I work part time at a tire shop. Our distributors list the specs of all tires they have. Most distributors only have about 4 options for 30s. They are going out. All 15s are but 3ps are at a much faster rate
